Love it! Caps have been my team since day 1! Back to the Finals and I'm sure theyve got it this time. I see it Ovi. He will not let them get swept like they did vs Detroit 20 years ago.

I think they ran into a team that has played with focus and determination this post season.

 

I'm not a puck head, but I can tell you as a fan of sport. I think the domination and phyiscal beating they hit Tampa with on Monday night took its toll in game 7 as well. I think the Bolts were playing one step behind waiting for and expecting more crushing hits.

 

And give credit to Holtby as well. Back to Back shutouts in elimination games. That's giving your guys a boost.

 

You could see the appreciation Ovi had for Holtby after game 6. He knew it was exactly what they needed from him.

 

That's my simple non expert opinion. I'm not as versed in hockey as I am college hoops. But can still appreciate special performances.

What a great game for sure! I'm not a basketball fan at all but living in the Bay Area I had to flip back and forth to the Warriors game 7 too.

 

Too bad the NHL and NBA were both playing at the same time last night. Two exciting games!

I couldn't believe it when it happened. The crowd was cheering loudly, the players were cheering, but no horn and no lamp. I was like what just happened?!?!? Then I saw the replay and really appreciated how amazing it was. He could've just deflected the shot but no, he trapped it like a stone cold killer.

Last night's game 2 was just as fun. Caps managed to get a few bounces and some great performances from their depth players. That's key for them because I would say Vegas seems to have better 3rd/4th lines and a stronger 3rd D pairing. Should be awesome seeing it go back tied 1-1.

 

Vegas needs to play the Caps top 2 lines even and then win with their depth. However the Caps will be line matching at home so they will be trying to get Ovi's group on the ice against some of Vegas' weaker guys. Should be fun to watch.

 

Vegas plays a great aggressive style and it might have cost them a bit last night, but either way it should be a fun finisher.

I had turned it off and kept going back waiting for the game to start. This is when I miss the old days when they would sing the anthem then start the freaking game. You didn't win the cup you got to the cup now play for the cup you can have a ceremony when you win.

Great game last night. But would someone please explain why Doc Emrick has such a love affair with Crosby? He managed to slip in a comment about Crosby during the game last night. Yeah, I've heard enough about Crosby. Pens are out. No more Pens or Crosby talk from the announcers please.

 

But, Doc Emerich is the only announcer that still calls a goalie blocker a waffleboard, so you got to love the guy.

Man. No love for the beat down that occurred last night? I suppose that's bad TV for impartial viewers but I was at least thinking Caps fans would chime in.

 

Vegas could've easily scored 3 goals in the first 3 minutes of the game but the Caps definitely took that good fortune and transformed it into domination. After those first 2 periods, you could tell they relaxed a bit to allow those goals in the third. It was really nice to see them bounce back with 2 more to keep from coasting.

 

I hope they don't come out game 5 with that same lax attitude....that's how you end up with a 7 game series. They need to go out to Vegas and win this thing so they can party it up properly.

I hope they don't come out game 5 with that same lax attitude....that's how you end up with a 7 game series. They need to go out to Vegas and win this thing so they can party it up properly.
