Just a quick little note for everyone. 

This year so far we have selected 130 Testers for our Member Testing. 

Of the 130 Testers 60!!! have been brand new testers to our member testing platform. Truly incredible to have that many new member testing gear for the forum. 

Also I am pretty excited to say that we have provided over 70k in equipment to our members for testing so far this year. 

Thank you to all the brands who have jumped on board this year! It has been incredible and such a fun season with so much more to come!

Wow, that is impressive! Proud to be one of the newcomer testers. It is truly a blast to dive deep into products that I would have never known! Thank you to all of the OEMs and to all of the SPY Mod........Staff! Here's to many more years in the forum and many new faces joining the family!

As a tester this year, first one for MGS, I wanted to share my experience. If you are questioning whether to apply or not, don't! I have been a part of MGS for a while and love reading the reviews from all of you. The support from MGS was great, the instructions were clear and the vendor was extremally supportive as well.

There was regular communication with all of the testers and in the smaller group that was testing my specific Garsen grip. I even made connection with one of that testers that lives in Portland as well. We have not been golfing yet as our schedules are kinda opposite but we will! I also enjoyed talking with others about their experiences and finding that they were similar was very encouraging.

So if you are on the fence, give it a go and apply for something you are interested in.

Thanks MGS for putting the effort to get product testing by all of you members.

Very insightful post on the entire process of being a “tester”. Being new to the whole thing, I didn’t know if it was random, selective, or if there were even marks or stipulations looked at to determine who would be chosen. 
Great stuff to know moving forward, as I’ve signed up for a couple in the past that caught my attention. Also glad to know that you guys demand and monitor the quality of work done by the chosen testers.

This is a great post to get a look into what is needed to be in the running to be selected. Even more so with being a new member and still figuring my way around.  I will surely check out the tester template for more insight.

We try to keep it as updated as possible, but the core requirements remain the same year over year. We have just been fortunate this year with the number of tests and in truth the activity of the staff we are able to find a lot of newer members who are active in different areas. It has been great to get so many new member involved and see some truly stellar reviews.

I did receive a notice to become a member, so I joined! Lol, I'm old and not very computer savvy, but will keep at it.

Welcome to the forum! Have a look around and join in on the threads that you find interesting. Being selected to test is nice, but you may find that the real treasure here is the community and shared joy that is abundant on this forum. Happy to have you here!

We do what we can!

We have great staff and are constantly looking at making improvements and help the testing experience be better, but also find easier ways to introduce new members into the system.

This has been an exceptional year and we expect that 2024 will hopefully have similar success. 

We are hard at work getting many of our contacts informed about 2024 and more.

This season we also created a feedback form for testers. It asks them to rate themselves, their participation and provide feedback on how to make the process easier or better for them and future testers.

They are posted in the tests in which they are selected for. 

Example lean lock putters the testers who were selected were announced in the main testing thread for that.

Great information on how to become a Product Tester and I love the encouragement regarding follow-up comments.  I have tested gilf balls for Titleist and Bridgestone but never he at MyGolfSpy!  Hopefully next year that will change!  Good luck to all.

Member Testing Update: September 10, 2023

Good morning all and happy NFL Sunday - Time for an update to the community for our Member Testing and where things stand as well as a quick peak at 2024. 

However some quick numbers for you to start 

To date we have had 38 Member Tests in 2023. This is easily a record by 8 or so member tests. It has obviously been a fantastic season and a lot of fun to follow along all the products which our members have worked with and tried along the way. 

Of the 38 tests so far we have had 197 testers selected for testing. 

Of the 197 testers which have been selected 84 (this was my last count and could be a bit more) were brand new to member testing for 2023! At some point I may dive more into that and will have a larger update when our season concludes as well as a new guide and main post for member testing into 2024. 

Member testing is coming to a close (kinda) for 2023. While we will still have tests throughout the off season the weekly member testing opportunities are going to come to a close soon. At the moment we still have 8 more member testing opportunities lined up between now and the end of 2023. You can expect to see these still come weekly through September and the start of October before we cycle down and have more sporadic releases. 

We are now shifting our focus to 2024 and reaching out to our contacts to see who would be interested in returning for 2024 as well as reaching out to new companies. We will still put a focus on DTC and smaller companies as well as work to have a few of the larger OEMs involved. The main different in 2024 is we want to see more interactions with members, testers and staff. While the plans are not solidified expect to see more challenges, competitions and events run throughout all tests. This also means that testers who are selected will be graded more heavily on participation. 

The final note for this update is that we will be limited member testing to 40 opportunities next season. While we would love to have 100, the reality is with the size of the community and in order to give everyone a fair shot at testing this seems like the best number to avoid too many repeat testers in a season and give everyone a fair shake at testing. As the community grows and participation increases this number can also increase. This kinda leads into something I will explain more later, however in 2024 we are going to make it clear that members will only get 1 opportunity to test per season. There will be some exceptions (again smaller items like golf balls, gloves, grips, apps etc) can be eligible for 2 in a season, but would need to be spaced out appropriately. Therefore only sign up for the items you are truly interested in testing. In addition tests like Cobra Challenge which are massive events are a one time only for members. We have too many amazing members to give that test to a person twice. 

Again I will have a lot more and expand on all of this later, but thank you to all 190 plus testers this season! It has been an incredible season for all of us and been so much fun to follow along!

Well folks with Sacks Parente up our season has come to a close from a main forum testing standpoint. It was an incredible season and a lot of fun (and work) along the way. 

We may have one or two more opportunities pop up between now and the new year but in terms of scheduled testing we are complete!
