Sluggo42
I’ve hit lots of them and I like most of them. I really still like my Hogans but will be 66 next month, and I’m losing all things associated with being older. (”jacked lofts” ) will be in the new set, because I would like a little distance. And I think the “lack of spin” argument is dead, because I’ve been watching a few videos of late that show that show that since you’re using a taller iron, say an 8 instead of a 6, the spin is actually similar, plus you’re coming in steeper. in my twisted view, I see benefits to the new new… I’m liking the p790, the most 223/225, the i525, the t100s/t200. I’m not liking the callaways or srixons for some reason, and I haven’t hit any cobras yet. then I see the new level CB or whatever that was that was well liked as a players club, but I might be at the point of needing the “helping hand” I’m afraid I don’t hold a fitting as the “all in”, as I think there are too many variables that can affect the process. I’ve had 2 with completely different results. there are just so many good clubs right now, it might come down to picking 2 or 3, and trying to get the place to drill down on shafts or something… its a Cadillac problem I suppose GolfSpy_SHARK and sirchunksalot 2 Quote TSr2 on tensi blue stiff Speedzone 3-wood on Tensi blue S Epic Max 5 and 7 woods on HZRDUS Reg flex Paradym 9 wood on HZRDUS reg flex P770 / P790 combo set on Ventus R-6 shafts 6-AW T22 Denim Copper 54°, 58° on Kinetic X Trajectory ER3 or, E.A.S. #4 (“Fang” or “Adele”) ProV1x, or, Maxfli Tour X .Org 14 cart bag Adidas Tour 360 , or Sketcher shoes
bens197
Sluggo….I don’t know if you caught it but during my fitting, the Callaway X forged heads nearly took the prize. I’ll say you have to hit everything as you already know but don’t sleep on these. I’ve seen your swing and you’ve got the chops. Sluggo42
I’m really leaning towards a p770/p790 combo set. I’ll go 5 to gap wedge. I’m trying to figure out where to make the switch to the p790’s, and I think I’ll need to bend one either stronger or weaker to help gapping, but unsure which way to go. any recommendations? Sluggo42
Ok, the p770 7-gw/ p790 5 and 6 irons, mounted on the Ventus Blue shafts in regular flex are the winners. Now to wait like everyone else due to the supply chain deficiencies! Talk about excited! JDHolmes
Went through two fittings in the last month. First was actually to find replacement shaft for one of my iron sets. P790 with ventus blue shaft was the best fit. Until I got home and realized the shafts couldn't be ordered. Went again to PGASS (again, tour van fitting) two weeks later. Went through all the possibilities. Had settled on Cobra Forged Tec but the fitter then pulled out the Cobra LTDx and with PGI shaft, they were excellent. Due to jacked lofts, launch window was a bit low but we weakened lost. Ordered the set. Did this fir the same reason as sluggo, 64 and losing distance Sluggo42
