The Good Morning Thread

Good morning spies! Well my wife reacted to getting a flu shot in one arm and a covid in the other yesterday. We buried her under a mountain of blankets so she could get past the chills. She is better this morning but hurts head to toe. She was shivering so hard for so long, all her muscles are over taxed today.  Next year we will have to spit up her fall shots.

4 days and counting and golfing resumes. I have ridden my bike along the cart paths and it looks in good shape.

I am running the Wild Bunch a lot more and will look at trying to make it more fun for the guys who have, for whatever reason, lost a lot of distance. I am thinking to allow the guys to move up to the forward tees on the par 5s (one of these is often set at over 550 yards and is impossible for a player who's best drive is 180 yards to get a green in regulation) and a couple of the par 4s. It will take some math, some finagling, and explaining this will be like trying to explain partial differential equations to 7 year olds. But it will make it a lot more fun for the short hitters.

Hit 'em straight if you get to play!

Good afternoon! I drove to Cleveland yesterday for work meetings and decided to stay for a few more meetings than required, so I wasn't able to find time to golf in any capacity. There was a Top Golf pretty close by, but I felt weird going there during dinner time by myself! 😆 I ended up driving back through Sandusky and went to a delicious restaurant on a bay there.

There is no golf on my schedule for the future, but I am looking forward to the weekend! It will be a family weekend where we have quite a few family activities queued up and plan to explore Michigan a little bit!

Have a nice day!

Good morning all, saw my first light frost of the year this morning...  sad day.

But, there is still hope as I see a few days with highs in the 70's over the next week and a half, and I've got a tee time Saturday AM.

Hope you all have a nice day!

Yup, our daughters had frost warnings in CT.  Mid October it’s time.

Rick

Good morning all. It's been a busy week with work travel and lab testing taking up large portions of my week. The lack of sleep is starting to catch up to me a bit as we are moving into the later part of the week. Daughter was feeling better this morning, so it looks like she may have just had a short bug. Luckily everyone else in the house seems to have avoided it and we managed to keep it to just the one person. Still waiting to hear back about the last interview I went through, not that I really expect much, and with my wife looking at a promotion in her near future, there's likely very little chance of a relocation happening, but it would be a nice little confidence boost to make it to the next step in the process.

Clearly I am out of the family information loop because it turns out one of my cousins passed away in a house fire over the weekend. Can't say it's surprising that I didn't hear about it because it's been about 9 years since I've visited that area. I think we are pretty much over 2024 by now with everything that has happened honestly.

Good Thursday Afternoon Spies!

What a morning in Central Florida, 56 degrees & windy! Walked 18 holes this morning at 7:15am, as sun was rising.  It's like we went from Summer to Winter after Hurricane Milton passed through.  It was also a full moon. It did finally warm up to 64 degrees at 10am.

Good morning Spies - I hope everyone is doing well and having a great week!

I've (unfortunately) been a little less active recently with the busyness of life lately - I've been traveling a bunch for work WHILE interviewing for a new role and balancing busy home life with two small kiddos.  Unfortunately, we also lost a close family friend to cancer this past week, so things are a bit funky in our household lately.

This goes without saying, but I really appreciate having this community here as a (small) escape from life's craziness sometimes - appreciate each and every one of you!

Condolences on your loss. Thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
