Popular Post StrokerAce
sad to read this part: Quote From the top down, the PUMA ALPHACAT NITRO has an extremely narrow and pointed toe. The resulting fit would definitely cause someone with a wider foot than mine pain and discomfort. The overall shaping just seems to scrunch the toes rather than let them naturally spread. Allowing your foot to naturally spread is critical to comfortable shoes when walking 18 (5+ miles)... samiawan442, Rob Person, RockerFCC and 9 others 12 Quote Driver- Titleist TSR3 10* Woods- Cobra LTD 3w 15*, 5W 19* Irons- Titleist 718 AP2 (5i-50*) Wedges- Callaway Jaws Raw (54/58) Putter- Wilson Infinite Grant Park Ball- Maxfli Tour X Buggy- Motocaddy M7 GPS Remote Electric Caddy Bag- Motocaddy Dry-Series Proudly testing for 2024:

It's something PUMA has a problem with and I'm not sure why they won't fix it. ECCO is a great example of a company that allows plenty of room in the toebox. Couldn't agree more. I am have loved my previous Pumas, but they were always the flex versions which offered a ton of space (I dont have wide feet). I am still really curious and wanting to try/own the Allbirds shoes he reviewed not too long ago. Bucky CC
I bought a pair of last year's Proadapt Alphacat Disc recently and the toe box on those fits me pretty well. Preeway
I have both the CodeChaos 22 and the Solarmotion from Adidas. Love them both. Found the Solarmotion at a local Adidas outlet store and liked it so much I went back and bought the other pair they had in my size. Best shoes I’ve bought in years. Hands down. Will have to look into the Paynters. IndyBonzo
I have the ZG21 BOA from Adidas, and have disliked it immensely. The heel pad wore out immediately. Spikes are nearly impossible to remove for replacement. I had to pry them out with a screwdriver because they won't twist out. No more Adidas for me. They were so expensive I just kept them until my stubbornness gave way yesterday. On MGS's recommendation I just picked up some FJ Hyperflex Carbons. Fingers crossed this is a better experience. StrokerAce
this brings to mind something that is extremely relative to every person but I'm just curious - how much is "too much" for a golf shoe? As someone with a painful bunion on their right foot that has had surgery to correct it and now has 2 screws in my big and next to the big toe, I absolutely agree that there is no price for comfort - but at what point do you say - whoa, hang on, that's unreasonable. bama no 1 and Rob Person 2 Quote Driver- Titleist TSR3 10* Woods- Cobra LTD 3w 15*, 5W 19* Irons- Titleist 718 AP2 (5i-50*) Wedges- Callaway Jaws Raw (54/58) Putter- Wilson Infinite Grant Park Ball- Maxfli Tour X Buggy- Motocaddy M7 GPS Remote Electric Caddy Bag- Motocaddy Dry-Series Proudly testing for 2024:

KC Golf
Adidas cleats. I call them cheap and cheerful. Fit great and last about a year. My heals usually wear out before the rest of the shoe. No blisters good traction. Would love to see if the Adidas cleats are any better or worse in terms of wear than these more expensive brands like FJ and Ecco. At double the price, I am not sure they’d re worth it, I used to play FJs, but now I am sold on just buying cheaper cleats since they on,y last about a year. No fashion points needed on the course. Dilly22
Felt inclined to comment on this topic… I’m an RN moving in an NP role and walk/on my feet 12-14 hours most days. My feet are awful and shoes are a struggle for me. That being said I discovered that ASICS actually sells golf shoes. Specifically one of their best sellers (and the style I wear) for a 1:1 transfer from running shoe to golf shoe. It had changed the game for me walking 9-18 and even days riding 18. I had old Nike golf shoes before these that was really taking a toll on my feet as I was walking 3-10 miles on my days off as well as during the week. Would be interesting if anyone had a similar experience with another brand. bama no 1 and RockerFCC 2 Quote KD
Big moose
I have tried different brands in the past, I didn't like the Nike or etonic so I tried footjoy and been buying them for years, I wanted to try there boa shoe but it was so hard for me to reach the knob with it being on the heel. So I tried the ASICS boa because the knob is on the side and I really like the way they look and feel, these are my go to shoes almost every time play. bama no 1 and RockerFCC 2 Quote Frank musolino

Josh Parker
Shoes in general for me are always a challenge. I have to have a 4E width and you would be surprised at how few options are out there. I run alot and when I buy shoes, I typically purchase several pairs because of the lack of wide options. I actually found my current golf shoes thru Puma. Spikeless and comfortable to wear. I don't walk my home course but every tee box is elevated and the course and walking to your ball from the cart path get plenty of steps in. Shlax
Interesting thread! Shoes are a very important part of a golfer’s equipment and they often do not have the amount of accessible reviews that clubs, balls, and tech have. I buy my shoes online 90% of the time (for convenience’s sake and sales) so having access to some intel would be useful to me. Here are a few notes about shoes that I own that would be useful to anyone planning on getting a pair: New Balance Freshfoam Links Pro: My favourite shoes that I own in terms of style. Very comfortable but they are on the larger size and have quite a wide fit. Being white shoes and mostly made from canvas, maintenance is painful, to say the least, and impermeability is nonexistent. Would definitely not recommend for golfers playing mostly early morning rounds with dew or during shoulder seasons. Moreover, they do retain smell more than other shoes… Puma Ignite PwrAdapt Caged: Very stable and comfy shoes. I went 0.5 size down per Puma’s recommendations and they were indeed right. Impermeability is not a strongpoint. On the contrary, airflow and moisture wicking features are very solid. Interesting fact: They are heavy! Nothing to cause any discomfort or lack of mobility but it’s just something that strucked me when I first got them. Good all around shoes in my opinion. Under Armour Draw Sport: Comfiest shoes that I own and also oldest. Very light, waterproof and durable. Great for quick 9s after work, on a par 3 course and for rounds on a flat course. Semi-unconspicuous golf apparel: I have worn them while runnings some errands on my way back from the course or the range more times than I could count and never got a look. The sole offers plenty of grip despite being "spikeless". Nike Air Zoom Victory Tour 2: My latest addition with my main focus placed on waterproofness. Played a very wet and long 5-hour round under a constant drizzle yesterday and my feet were bone dry at the end of the day. Very impressed with the light weight despite being 100% leather shoes. On the other hand, they have a very narrow and tight fit and I don’t usually wear wide fitting shoes… Going 0.5 size up could be an option. Also, you can somewhat feel the cleats when walking on harder surfaces (e.g., greens, asphalt, etc). I wouldn’t recommend these shoes at full retail price, but I got them at 50% off for shoulder seasons which is fine.
