GilB
Other than the standard(if there's such a thing) PW, I game the Cleveland RTX 50*, 56* LB, and the 58*LB. Love them all. For me, I'm thinking about getting rid of one of my hybrids and putting in a 52* also. A lot of the games activity is close to the green anyway so why not put a club in your hand that you feel is the best for a given circumstance. Beazejr
I began to practice with a 60 degree Walmart special. I practiced hours a day on carpet to the point I could drop that ball about a foot from the pin every time. It became my go to wedge. After about 16 yrs it’s wore out and I needed a new club. Quietly I went back to Walmart to see if the same club was available. No… I decided to upgrade to Cleveland RTX 60 and 54 degree. Hasn’t been the same because I don’t know the loft of the (literally) no name Walmart special. I keep trying. JWK1969
Sorry that I can't attach a pic at the moment, but my wedge setup is probably like many others'. My pitching and gap wedges match the iron set I have (Mizuno MP223s), and I have higher lofted wedges that are probably just a bit unusual in that they have odd-numbered lofts. And their sole grind is identical, so neither is a high bounce "sand" wedge. I have Edison original version 55 and 59 degree wedges with stiff shafts (though my iron set has x-stiff). Edison's design has the center of gravity a bit higher in the wedge face, so they claim, so I didn't have them bend either wedge to more "traditional" lofts of 54 and 58 (though they would have, had I asked). As a result, I didn't lose any distance moving from 54/58 CBX2 wedges. I like them on a full swing, but I've struggled a bit with my touch around the greens at times. That said, I definitely prefer them over the CBX2s I gamed previously. Mostly, I would say I use the 55 around the green unless particular circumstances dictate. Really fast greens mean the 59 will be used far more often. Next time I replace my wedges, I'll probably hold a bit of a competition between the Titleist/Vokeys, the Mizunos, and whatever Cleveland has to offer. Maybe the Edisons will get another shot, too. bevoboy75457
I use two setups that are fully dependent on the course and how I configure the top end of my bag based on the clubs I'll need for approach yardages. Most days it's a 46, 50, 54, 58 setup. However, if I have a course that I need to be able to attack some Par 5s or long Par 3s around the 230 yardage I'll drop to my 3 wedge setup and get the 3-wood and 5-wood/UW in the bag instead of 4-wood. My 3 wedge setup is 46, 52, 58. I rarely hit a full shot inside 150-yards. As a scratch, former college player, and HS Golf Coach, I flight and shape everything inside that 150-yard threshold. I use the Pelz method with 730 (50%), 9 (75%), and 1030 (90%) swings. I learned it playing college golf, and through experimenting I have been able to adapt it to 9-iron and 8-iron as well to give me the ability to attack anywhere inside the 150-yard range with a variety of low or high shots with or without a lot of spin as needed. It really helps me score using this system. My carry yardages look like this: (4 WEDGE SETUP) 8-Iron: 730=78, 9=117, 1030=140, Full=156 9-Iron: 730=71, 9=106, 1030=127, Full=142 46: 730=64, 9=96, 1030=115, Full=128 50: 730=57, 9=85, 1030=102, Full=114 54: 730=50, 9=75, 1030=90, Full=100 58: 730=43, 9=64, 1030=77, Full=86 (3 WEDGE SETUP) 8-Iron: 730=78, 9=117, 1030=140, Full=156 9-Iron: 730=71, 9=106, 1030=127, Full=142 46: 730=64, 9=96, 1030=115, Full=128 52: 730=53, 9=80, 1030=96, Full=107 58: 730=43, 9=64, 1030=77, Full=86 No3PuttLaLa and Shifty 2 Quote Driver: Taylormade Stealth 2 Plus (9*, Neutral Setting), Aldila Rogue Elite Blue 55-X Fairway Woods: Taylormade SLDR (15* @ 13.5*) - Mitsubishi AV Raw Orange 75-X, (17* @ 16.25) - Mitsubishi CK Pro Blue 75-X, (19* @ 18.25) - Mitsubishi CK Pro Blue 75-X, (19* @ 20.5*) - True Temper Dynamic Graphite Tour X Tipped 2.5" Utility: Callaway X Forged UT CF18 (21* weakened to 22*) - Matrix Ozik Black Tie HM3 95-X Irons: Cleveland TA1 Form Forged (4-P) - KBS C-Taper 130 X Soft Stepped Once (+1/2", Standard Lies) Wedges: Cleveland 588 (50*), Cleveland 588 Rotex (54* & 58*), Taylormade RAC TP (52* @ 53*) - KBS Tour 130 X (+1/2", Standard Lies) Putters: OG Ping Anser 3 @ 34", Ping Redwood ZB Satin @ 34" Golf Ball: Titleist Pro V1

Preeway
I’m curious if anyone has compared 54° vs. 56° wedges from the bunker. I was also thinking of changing to 54° when I get my 50° wedge this winter but I’ve always played a 56° and I know what to expect. I’m looking more at changing to a 54° for approach shots and green side chip shots. Sole width and bounce is more important from the bunker for me. Need something I can open the face up and allow me to swing fast.
