pulledabill
After running around this morning the sun came out a little so I decided to play 9 between the rain and a little snow. 39 degrees with a 5 to 10 mph wind. Struck the ball well but had trouble putting together a good distance with my 2nd shot with the cold air and a wind. Bogey golf with 2 pars amd 2 doubles. Broke out an old putter but it hurt me. Hit 6 of 9 fairways though and never had a bad miss. 15 putts with one 3 putt. Lots of scrambling when you also hit 3 greenside bunkers. The good with that is that I got out of all 3 with my first try. Not always the norm. All in all not super displeased except I dont like bogey golf. Struck everything solid which was good and I hit my new to me 2 hybrid twice and struck it well. We were sitting outside with shorts on today and enjoying a beautiful upper 70 degree day in Georgia. It looks like the cold nasty stuff is stuck on the other side of Bama. It does feel good to pick up a new club and it works as expected. I game a 2 hybrid myself and I've had it in my bag for several years now and it's a permanent part of my bag. Peaksy68
First real round back after a couple of significant changes. Had me finger bent straight, and my irons bent to standard lie from 3 upright. Played off the back marks in a gentle 25-30mph wind. Had 8 over, really struggled to get the ball to the hole, left it short on 12 greens. Ball striking was pretty solid, happy with how I hit my irons after the adjustment. Highlight was driving the green on the 345 yard 3rd. Lowlight was leaving the eagle putt 6 foot short (from 20 foot) At least I made the next one. Hand pulled up well, only a couple of painful twinges. Kenny B
Today was a real battle!! Ball was moving on the green, and it was wobbling on the tee. Checked the weather on my laptop when I got home. I've been striking the ball really well lately and hope I've found something that sticks. I shot +4 on the front but my wife shot +3. However, I kicked her arse on the back nine; I shot +5 and she shot +12. I think the wind wore her out. cnosil, MattF, JohnSmalls and 2 others 5 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
cnosil
Ball striking was good; putting was good; tee shots were okay, lost a few to the right; short game was as usual miserable. Shot 40-42 in some windy conditions, not as windy as Kenny B but probably a 1 to 1.5 club wind.
