Does the distribution of weight in the bag from clubs and accessories have anything to do with it causing wheel alignment bias?

Yes, mentioned in the Motocaddy manual as well.

Does the manual show a recommended bag setup related to distribution of weight?

@jbern there is nothing in the Motocaddy manual that explains or recommends a bag set-up other than mentioning that an unevenly loaded bag may cause alignment issues while running it.

unevenbag.jpg.30fa5d4257a45e940b345796fcbf9e9d.jpg

I just got back home from the course where I used my trolley for the first time.

Course is not the best for walking, cart paths are dirt or gravel, and only go part ways on any individual hole.

Also, there is a long walk/ride from number 2 green to 3 tee box, and an even longer walk/ride from number 3 green to number 4 tee box. Then the walk from the green on 9 to the tee box on 10 is about 1/4 mile long past the clubhouse and around the 18th green area.

Same on the back nine, long walk/ride from number 10 green to 11 tee box, and then not too bad until you get to the walk/ride from 17 green to 18 tee box.

Actually played 20 holes due to a back-up, and an opening on number 7 tee box while I was waiting for 4 groups on 17. Played 7, a par 4 and 8 a par 3, then walked across the grass to the 17th tee box and finished my round.

I took it with a full charge and when I walked off the course and loaded it back into the car it was still about 70+% charged.

Had no issues with alignment or anything, but all I had in the bag was 14 clubs, a dozen balls, and a handful of tees. I am kind of a minimalist that way. 🫣

Need to get to a family function, but can add more information later tonight or tomorrow.

Maybe I missed ot and this was answered in the past 7 pages, but have you found yourselves having to rearrange your club positions for better access on the cart??

That is a great question. I’m sorry it took so long to get back to you. All of my woods are near the handle. IMG_5025.jpeg.d8511fc692c4d673c164216a92210fee.jpeg

The irons would be too short I think to be where the woods are. The only issue I have is that sometimes my phone gets in the way. Other than that, the club position in the picture seems the best option for the setup I’m testing.

I could play golf every day and learn something new each time.

There’s nothing in my cart’s manual as well. I have my rain gear in my bag so it’s a tad heavy on one side.

Do you not find you have your iron heads banging against your your driver/wood shafts with them set up that way? I have mine the opposite way to yours with wedges nearest the handle and driver/woods furthest away

@Northern Monkey I have the clubs in a similar arrangement as @Erin B and you are correct that the irons will get close or contact the wood shafts.

I had Craftsman iron covers on my irons, so that wasn't an issue for me, but I the next round I get with the trolley I may rearrange the clubs as you have yours and see if it makes a difference.

Hoping to get back on the course on Sunday with mine.

I’m guessing with iron covers the clubs won’t be as affected. I find that having the wedges near the handle and then going up the clubs allows for less clashing if clubs in the bag. When I had the Motocaddy bag on my M7 there was no issue with being able to reach the clubs in this set up either. Will be interested to see which you prefer

Nothing really bangs around in the bag. I may do what @rkj427 said he may try as well, but the dry series bag I’m using has everything pretty tight.

I also had a change of plans, gonna test the bag in a cart instead of walking. It must be done🤪 in order to have a true golf bag evaluation. One thing I noticed is the strap loop is a little tall for the cart strap. I also wish this bag had a hidden hole behind the pockets for the strap.

Here’s my score to keep things in perspective…. Same as Wednesday which means the motocaddy has zero effect on my score.

Good Evening my fellow golfers….

Rather unspectacular day for the most part here in the realm of the “Hardcore Haranguing Highness”.. Spent the day doing the mandated worker drone tasks that were assigned. Most didn’t require a lot of effort or skill. Checked the roof for any blatant hail damage. Didn’t find any damaged or loose shingles. Did find a few dents on my personal truck. Not many and may give a go at trying the “Dry Ice” hack on them. I’ll have to do more research to see if it is actually a “thing” or urban legend material.
Day was pretty much in the books, when the wife person mentioned that she thought that the weather had been much more severe, earlier this year than usual. Again,  as is my wont to do, I couldn’t keep my mouth shut.. I uttered something along the lines that; “  “ Mother Nature “ must not like the way things are being done around here “.
Needless to say there will be NO golf this weekend. I was immediately volunteered to be grunt labor to help sort and load for a convoy that is transporting relief supplies for storm victims.
I really, really need to learn to contemplate what I want to say, instead of just blurting it out.. IF not, one day in the not to distant future I will be like…

Have an excellent evening my fellow spies and may you and those you care for have a wickedly wonderful weekend.

Got out again today! Experimenting with video editing too.

I’m new to it as you can tell. Let me know what you think. @Northern Monkey I played with the clubs in the configuration you suggested and it worked pretty well. I hurt my hip so I need to rest it. The wife also goes in for surgery and we’ll be in Denver all week. Drs want her to stay down there for the week. I am taking the clubs because she told me to, but I doubt I’ll play. I’m also taking medicated patches for my hip just in case.

So I’m not so much a fan of this bag on a riding cart.

I had the same issue. On a riding cart getting clubs in and out is a chore. My Motocaddy bag is sitting with a back up set of clubs in it. The only time it sees light of day is if I'm in an outing with rain in the forecast. Then its swap the bag out. Mine is the waterproof model. My Cobra bag is much easier to use and has everything where it needs to be. Swapping from Motocaddy to a riding cart requires zero changes to club configuration  in the bag.

I have a round scheduled for tomorrow morning, and also rearranged my Motocaddy bag as @Northern Monkey and the Motocaddy photo suggests with the woods away from the handle.

Played a little with this set-up at home on the grass this evening and seems to me that may actually be easier to get the longer clubs out and no worries about irons banging into woods.

Later, next week I will try to get around in with a different bag, as some other members inquired about how the trolleys handle various bags.

The Ask Echo bag has the pin holes for the motocaddy and is a really good cart bag. I have one and like it. But I also like the dry series motocaddy bag. They’re just different. I added the bag to my review with scores. I’m almost at midpoint.

Thank you @Northern Monkey! I am going to play today, daughter wants to go. I cannot turn that down so I’m gonna lidocaine patch and muscle through. You are right about the bag setup, easy access and no clanking.

Hey Testers - wanting to compare your experiences against my BagBoy Volt…

I previously had a BagBoy Quad attached to an Alphard eWheels and while it may have wanted to tip back going up a hill I never was in danger of tipping over on a side hill or going downhill too fast.

However - w my new ride I’ve flipped it over multiple time on side hills and down hills. And side hill down hill can be especially risky.

im curious where you are most vulnerable?

On the plus side - I pop the battery out and take it to the charging cord in the garage - can you do the same?

The Volt will run about thirty seconds before stopping if you haven’t touched the remote - direction or speed. How long will yours run w no input?

Got out for 18. It was hard in the wind. Molly did well. Shot an 83 but most of that was wind issues, not the hip. The hip issue just made me slow down my back swing, which was probably needed. I’m going to heal the next week even though the spousal unit still told me to take the clubs to Denver. Not going to argue with her. She’s the one who is getting part of her body cut out, not me. G*D bless her!!! Anyway. I’m pretty close to final review of the bag and cart. @GolfSpy_APH I’m very close. Let me know if you need me to get the review in. My cart is very good and as expected. Happy birdie hunting!!!

Glad to know the hip was not a painful impediment to your round. Best of thoughts and vibes sent to your better half. Hoping for a fast and complete recovery.
