Popular Post Rob Person
I work for RTJ Highland Oaks, in a very part time capacity. I'm a LEO full-time. It's a way to help me both learn more about the game and to reap some of the perks. RTJ Alabama courses are owned and operated by Sunbelt/Marriot. Originally founded by our state retirement system, RSA. It is a public course, but has semi-private membership opportunities as well. I originally started off as just a volunteer at a couple pro events (Korn Ferry and LPGA). Got to know a few employees, gelled well with almost everyone, and was offered the opportunity to work there. They preached the rewards and benefits of reduced green fees, special events priority, lucrative discounts, etc. I've only been there a couple of months, and really enjoy it. I'm labeled as an OSP (outside service personnel) My main duties are as a Course Marshall, but also work as a Starter too. I've worked range duties, cart barn, valet, and player assitant. Essentially everything but inside the clubhouse and maintenance. I've since garnished the nickname Ranger Rob from a few regulars. The guests seem to enjoy the moniker, and management doesn't mind it either. They just won't put it on my nametag... Popular Post Rob Person
Here is a quick photo I took today. Dothan is Known as the peanut capital of the world. There are dozens of these peanut statues all over the city, representing whatever business you own. There is one designer for them, and he molds and builds them by hand. It is a cooperative business agreement with the chamber of commerce. There is actually a scavenger hunt and map for them at the CoC office. And That is my little Marshal cart just behind it. Popular Post Golfspy_CG2
Yep, I work for Troon Golf as Tournament Director. Basically I sell and run over 150 golf outings a year at our 36 hole golf course. Ranging in size from 20 players to 280 players. It's a year round job, with the winter spent booking all the tournaments for the following year, and the spring, summer nd fall spent executing them. Then rinse and repeat. Also a certified fitter for PING and Titleist and assist in over 20 fitting days a year at our course. Then there are my MGS Duties which due to the above, I've taken on a lesser role the last two years and let @GolfSpy_APH and the others have most of the fun!
