Mizuno Drivers

After reading the article about the Mizuno seeking to reinsert itself into the driver conversation.  I started thinking about all the Mizuno drivers I have used over the years. 

Think the first Mizuno driver I ever gamed was the T-Zoid, with that ugly champagne color (what were they thinking? )

Followed that up with the T-Zoid Titanium driver.

Next on the list came the MP-001 driver.

Was on staff with Mizuno at this time but this one just didn't quite work for me.

Later on I gave the Mp-600 a go.....

And lastly the JPX EZ, while I liked this driver I hit my friends SLDR and had to make the switch.

 

Anyways, although these drivers performed well, I for some reason or another found something I liked better.  So hoping their new drivers will do well.

Also posting this thread to see what other Mizuno drivers forum members have played and what their thoughts were on them.

I loved the st190 and it was my go to in the shop I worked in.

My gamer is the 2022 model of the ST-X; my fitter put me on it although I had not been considering Mizuno as a possibility. I've been very happy with it; I'm hitting more fairways, distance is better (although my swing changes help with that too) and my banana balls are less banana-y. Ball flight is a little lower than I would like and I may look at a different shaft later in the year. I tweaked the shaft/head connection by 1.1 degrees which should have given me a little higher ball flight and a little more draw bias, and it helped but not enough. I have another notch to tweak it in that direction, which I may try before I go shaft hunting.

It’s a great article.  I have never gamed a Mizuno driver.  I agree some of the old ones look really ugly to me which is probably why I haven’t played one.

But the article is making me want to try it.  I will give it a go the next time I am out to get footed for a replacement for my TSR3.  I have been brainwashed to only think of Mizuno for irons, but I need to open my horizons to see if the Mizuno driver or FW has a spot in my bag.

I guess I am a hypocrite on ugly drivers since I did game a Nike Sumo driver at one point!

I had a Mizuno Tzoid years ago, and, more recently a STZ 220 - very forgiving, but, not quite the right shaft for me.

The 190 was amazing. Still one of the best looking drivers at address with a deep face.  From the reviews I have seen the newish st-g 440 hangs with the big boys

Nice to see this topic. I am currently using a ST200 and am pretty satisfied with it. If you're interested, I have written a review about 2 shafts I am using with it, a Fujikura Atmos tour spec and a Mitsubishi Tensei. What are you using with yours?

I traded in my TSR2 for a Mizuno Stz. In my opinion it is just as good, if not better than my TSR.

Another here, I'm playing the ST200 with Atmos Tour Spec Black 6S.  I hardly ever see anyone else playing Mizuno woods, just irons.  It's been a good driver but my mishits cost me and I was hoping to get fitted, maybe try out the new Max after reading some reviews.  After not being able to find anywhere in my area to get fitted for new Mizuno woods, as the places I called only fit irons, I tried a few others and got fitted for and ordered a new Ping 430 10K  which impressed me more than anything else I tried, including my current driver.  Found out yesterday the Ping is on backorder, so will be playing the Mizuno for a while longer.
