Unofficial Review of 2024 Bridgestone Tour BX Mindset Edition

Thank you so much MyGolfSpy and Bridgestone for this opportunity. I took the initial test and the Tour BX was the ball recommended. This makes a lot of sense as I currently play Titleist Left Dash ProV1X.

Initial Thoughts

I love how the Mindset goals are listed on every sleeve as a reminder of the process. I took these out for a round at a local course I play a few times a year, but is really a golf course demanding of accurate tee shots and I am only able to pull out driver on 3 holes. The Mindset process was especially helpful in putting. I put an extra line on the ball because I like to see the ball roll end over end however it was helpful to have the process of identify, visualize and focus.

The Mindset Function allowed me to hone in my current routine. I had always been a fan of Jason Day and my routine consists of standing behind the ball and visualizing the shot. I think the extra circles allows for a no brainer on every tee shot and putt.

The ball performed well in relation to consistency off the tee and I like the visual aid in putting. Like I had mentioned, I am only able to use driver a few times on the course, the first one I hit was slightly downhill and it went 331. It was my longest drive on this hole ever. The only area where I would like to see more over the next few rounds is the performance on pitch shots and chips. There were a few examples of each shot where I hit a specific chip and thought it would check and stop and it rolled out. On a pitch shot, I felt like I clipped it really well and it still skidded and rolled out instead of a hop and stop.

I will continue to test the ball against the ProV1X Left Dash. I think if I can figure out the short game, the Bridgestone ball with the Mindset will be a viable option to stay in the bag. If it does not, I will start to implement a different system of markings on the ball to have the same sort of process Mindset encourages.

Again, thank you MyGolfSpy and Bridgestone. I will continue to provide updates as I get out to the course to test.
