So much for new technology, huh?

Winner's bag: Brandt Snedeker just won at Pebble Beach using a driver worth $20

By E. Michael Johnson

Brandt Snedeker's winning bag of clubs has a couple of interesting sticks, namely his driver and putter. Sneds' driver is a TaylorMade Burner SuperFast -- a driver introduced in 2010 and one with a current trade-in value of $20.34. The putter is an Odyssey White Hot XG Rossie, a club that the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am champ has used primarily for nearly a decade. At 34 inches in length it is approximately an inch shorter than standard.

Snedeker's wedges also have a bit of a personal touch as his 52-degree Bridgestone J15 is bent to 51 degrees and his 56-degree is bent to 55 degrees.

He is using the i95 (95gm) SteelFibers.  He has DG S400s in his wedges.

Thanks! I seemed to recall he and Kuch both use the i95, but wasn't sure about the wedges. Interesting.

I believe those are i95 S flex - not x flex also.

Taylor Made Stealth 2 10.5 Diamana S plus 60  Aldila  R flex   - 42.25 inches

SMT 4 wood bassara R flex, four wood head, 3 wood shaft

Ping G410 7, 9 wood  Alta 65 R flex

Srixon ZX5 MK II  5-GW - UST recoil Dart 65 R flex

India 52,56 (60 pending)  UST recoil 75's R flex

Evon roll ER 5 32 inches

It's our offseason so auditioning candidates - looking for that right mix of low spin long, more spin around the greens - TBD

That is correct.

I have recently switched to Paderson 110gm X graphite iron shafts and I won't be going back to steel.  I picked up about 5mph of ball speed, which is equal to about 1.5 clubs of distance.  First shot I hit with them on course was from 148 (to pin), with a horrible downhill lie, I just bunted a 9i trying to get it to the front of the green and hit it past hole high.  Two holes later I hit the 9i to 6' on a 168yd par 3 and this was on a 42* day.  The ball just rockets off the face with graphite.  I never thought I'd like graphite or lighter shafts, but I'm in love.

110 gms isn't exactly light/light.

It's interesting to me that steel is being made in lighter weights and graphite in heavier.  I have certainly found that I prefer mid 60's for my irons, mid 80's for my wedges and 120 for my primary sand iron.

I can't get all techie but 6 months ago I was fitted for Wishon 771CSI 4i - PW with AeroTech i80 R shafts. I also have them in my Wishon PCF Micro Tour c wedges. I have absolutely loved the feel and performance these shafts provide. In combination with the irons my ball striking has never felt so good or been better. Even though the shafts are lighter than steel shafts I've played in the past my fitter added some weighting down the hosel in the heads for swing weight/MOI matching. My shafts were also spine'd aligned and frequency matched in some manor. I love them.
