  1. The new Titleist Vokey SM10 wedges were released in March of this year and have been a popular addition to many golfers' bags since. We are looking for four golfers to test, review, and keep a set of Titleist Vokey SM10 wedges. About The Vokey SM10 Wedges MyGolfSpy Staff member Tony Covey has a complete breakdown of the new SM10 wedges here , which is a must-read, but the shorter version is Vokey SM10 is focused on three key elements: versatility, distance control, and trajectory, and maximizing spin. The Vokey SM10 lineup has six different grind options for a total of 25 different loft, bounce, and grind options. This includes the M Grind that had previously only been available through WedgeWorks and T Grind that has also made its way to the retail market. The other options that a golfer must choose from are the finish, and the SM10 has three of them: Tour Chrome, Jet Black, and the new addition Nickel. There’s more though; the Vokey SM10 has refined the shape and CG placement to help optimize distance control and trajectory. This works in tandem with their spin-milled grooves that have groove geometry that varies depending on the loft to maximize spin for each loft. Titleist Wedge Selector Tool Of course, all of this can be a lot to take in, so Titleist offers an online Wedge Selector Tool to help simplify things. It is a series of eight questions which gather various information about your current setup and game to help make the best recommendation on what setup would be best for you. To try it yourself, go here! WEDGE SELECTOR TOOL Please welcome and congratulate our four testers! @HeathS16 @snoopy79 @MIGregB @Chubbs1991

  3. I'm particularly proud of this one and have been working with Garmin on this for the last few months to get it to be what we both want. Going to be a fun one to follow along with and see how it sorts itself out!

  4. Not as much what I bought, but what I won during a Masters giveaway on Instagram from Jesusofgolf! Thank you Scottie for shooting -11 and the random draw out of three for the win! Was able to get a Ventus TR Blue 6X as well, which is the shaft I play in my TSi3. Can't wait to see how the Darkspeed X does on the course! Just a few teaser photos, proper ones to come later As an owner of the Aerojet Max, the Darkspeed line is night and day better looking from the club to the headcover, and the AJ Max is no slouch in the looks department. And yes, @sirchunksalot, the crown looks nearly identical to the KING TEC Hybrids!

  5. Good morning everyone! It's a back to work Monday after a 3 day weekend. I won't be getting one of those this week as my job is back to calling Saturday overtime and this is our week. I had a good one, most of the weekend was about my wife and her birthday and I enjoyed celebrating her. It's going to be a rainy week here so there will probably not be much on the golf front this week. I hope you all have a great start to your week!

  8. The Review - May 7, 2024 STIX Golf Play Full Set Series – Official MGS Forum Review by Matumbo First of all, I want to thank MGS and the Forum Mods for this awesome and unique testing opportunity. Also thank you to STIX for making this possible. This will be my first test/review and I am planning to give it my all. Hopefully you find this review helpful and thanks for taking the time to read. About Me I’m Matt, I’m 34 years old and live in Rochester, NY. I am married and have two daughters and love spending time with them. We go fishing, camping, bike rides, and they will occasionally accompany me golfing. Besides one or two times playing golf when I was 16, I only started golfing since around August 2022. I ended up joining a local club and have been golfing quite a lot since. I’ve taken a few lessons recently and have just started feeling comfortable with my swing. I’m gaining distance and accuracy and really excited for this season. I joined MGS in July of 2023 after doing some research into golf equipment and kept seeing the forum appear in my search results. I felt that MGS gave honest reviews based on actual data and that the reviews, etc. are unbiased. My Game I haven’t been playing golf too long, but have fallen in love with the game. I walk 95% of the time and love being out in the fresh air and will often play 9 holes after work during the week and play most weekends when time/commitments allow. I am still a high handicap (~32) and have yet to break 100. My closest 18 so far has been a 101 (50 front, 51 back). I am confident my handicap will come down and I will have great improvement this season. While my handicap is still high, my swing speed has increased dramatically and I need at least stiff flex in my clubs. I’ve had and used regular flex and they are typically too whippy for me. Since there’s only the one flex option, I’m interested to see how the flex of these clubs works with my swing and how accurate the claim is that these clubs are “Built for 99% of golfers”. I may not fit in with the 99% as I am 6’ 4” tall. I did the wrist to floor measurement and based on that, I should have about a 1/2” extra in my clubs, though my current set is all standard. I have switched recently to jumbo grips in my clubs and have loved them the past few weeks since I’ve had them. Testing I’m very interested in testing these out and putting them through the paces. I’ve seen many ads for these and never really gave them much thought. I have done some cursory research on them in the past and more recently once I got this news and thought that what they say they offer sounds great. My first set of clubs was a Top Flite set from Dick’s. I guess for what they are (sub-$300 starter clubs) they got the job done, but given the amount I played my first year and the improvements in my game since then, I don’t think these clubs were a good buy personally (I felt I grew out of them too quickly). My hope with STIX, especially given the higher price point, is that they will perform better and would be able to stay with me longer as I improve. I don’t have a full plan for testing yet, but that will come. I do plan to test alongside my current clubs at my range and on-course. I will try to get to a simulator and get some time and data of my current clubs vs. STIX.

  9. A good morning to all on a sunny and beautiful Monday morning here. Delighted to see another Canadian, Taylor Pendrith earn his first victory on the PGA tour, although you have to feel for the runner up, Ben Kohles. That’s a tough way to lose, but hand it to Taylor, he’s battled through a lot of injuries to finally get a win and he played well all week. Had a chance to get my first round in with the L.A.B. DF3, aka the blue Lab rat. All I way say at this point, this is a seriously good putter. More to follow. Have a great day. My “working man’s” lunch box for later today. The little flask may or may not be filled with the appropriate birdie appetizer.

  11. Good morning MGSpies from wet but not for long today WNY with dreams of golf this afternoon after workday is done network is coming up on that computer from basement central on a zero commute Monday, coffee almost ready and floating on the weekend memory of yesterday with 1st session for PGA HOPE south of Rochester that magically stopped the rain I drove through on the way there and light shower returned as I finished putting clubs away into the vehicle with everything still dry when it went in. Family band plays tonight at open mic so just going to keep rockin' the day! Hope golf is a part of your day 23

  13. Good morning MGSpies from an early wet gusty Wednesday after overnight storms serenaded sleep with lots of thunder and bucket loads of rain, workday getting going in basement central on the zero commute day and last full day of work this week for events with son's RIT graduation that begin tomorrow afternoon. Coffee soon to be ready on a Community Call eve recalling how golf didn't happen yesterday with son home for other things to do getting ready for the weekend, so a steamer taking wrinkles out of graduation gown counts as something like swinging a club right? I guess not. Next chance for golf is this afternoon! Great to see you are back on your own wheels Jason and know that experience. Can't agree with you more with Matt's "acquaintances" though I suspect @GolfSpy SAM has something on them to guarantee their silence. Welcome in @Billy The Kid Rogers and @shady 101, although those usernames... and @Syks7 good luck out there in west coast land. Hope golf is a part of your day! 21

  15. Good morning all! Had a nice weekend with some time with family yesterday to celebrate a number of things, a couple birthdays, an early mothers day, and my sisters gradating with her second masters. Saturday was a nice time hanging out with some friend and getting a nice run in. Unfortunately with some crazy work on Friday and busy weekend there was no golf but hopefully we can rectify that soon. Looking forward to a couple nice weather days here, though work will still be busy so hopefully I can get out for some sun! Have a great Monday everyone!

  16. Morning All, Well today is the wife's birthday. Had to come into work but I will be heading out shortly so I can spend the day with her. Got her season passes to the Revolutionary war museum and the Jamestown museum here in Virginia as that is what she wanted. So may try to take her over to one to get the physical card so she can go whenever she wants. That means no golf today. Going to try to get out tomorrow morning, so hoping it doesn't really rain tonight. Anyway, Hope everyone has a great day.

  17. Good morning everyone on another rainy morning. Feels like I’m back home in the PNW with all the morning dreariness lately. The lack of golf lately has me feeling down but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and after Mothers Day I should be home free to be busy on the course as much as I want in the afternoons. Hope everyone has a great day ahead.

  19. Good morning MGS’ers and happy Tuesday. Rain in the forecast for the morning but giving way by noon, according to the experts. Hoping that is true as my Darkspeed X is set to arrive today and I would love to get on the range/course this evening for a few holes with my boys to test it out. Always good to see this update in the FedEx app! Hope everyone has a great day!

  20. TL/WR, just scroll to the bottom. Before we get into about me, allow me to start with just some of how I feel about being selected for this amazing testing opportunity presented by Stix and MyGolfSpy. Simply put, this describes ALL of my emotions. Stix offers a basic online fitting process on the website. Want to try it? You can CLICK HERE. It was a few simple questions that nearly anyone looking to buy clubs should be able to answer, regardless of your abilities. I was fit into the Perform series, graphite shafts, cut .5" shorter. *ALSO OF NOTE* This is not the first time MGS has been involved with Stix clubs. <<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>> For those new to the site, welcome to MyGolfSpy forums! It's more than just a website full of random numbers and data. For me it is an amazing community full of wonderful and knowledgeable people. It is truly one of those places that you can get so much more than you hoped for, if you so desire. _____________________________ ABOUT ME: My name is Rob (in case my screen name didn't make it obvious) I am only a few days from turning 51, and this is kind of the coolest NOT a birthday present, present!!! I started off as a golf hack a merely 2 years ago, and today I am still a hack but with a better understanding of my abilities. CLICK RIGHT HERE! Part of my goals for 2024 is to be more consistent, break 90, and become a better golfer overall. Ive accomplished just 1 so far, and that was breaking 90 only a short time ago this year. My clubs are branded Foremost 551. They are over 25 years old, and still sturdy as ever! They are HEAVY though. I struggle the most with my irons. I can't say for sure if it's them or me that is the real reason I can't play the 4-8i well at all. And this is where the true testing will be paramount in discovering that out! f2c36422246d460298ad5f2de2033234.HD-1080p-2.5Mbps-20058727.mp4 A few leading goals/questions I have asked myself has been: Will graphite shafts be better or worse for me? Will new irons afford me more consistent strikes and distance control vs. my over the hill irons? Can an "entry level" set of Stix perform to today's standards as well as they claim? And finally , can they endure the punishment I am about to unleash on them? I am fortunate enough to work at a Golf course part time, just so I can support my golf habit without bending the wallet too much, which is probably the only reason why the lady boss tolerates what she calls a silly addiction. It truly is a top notch course, with grass range and practice areas, and pristine putting greens! This is where most of the action will happen! I was extremely blessed and fortunate to be a part of a big putter test last year, The Odyssey AI-ONE putters test (click to read if interested) This was my first real testing opportunity, and I learned so much from the experience. Ive also tested out some secret titleist balls, the Bridgestone sample test (going on now), and written a few personal reviews on items I've owned for golf. I truly hope to provide for you, the MGS family, a quality and informed review of these irons! I will make it as fun as possible for everyone to enjoy too! <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>> TL/DR : I am Rob, working towards becoming a mid-handicapper, testing the Stix Perform series irons, 90% on course and practice areas, hoping to prove that these clubs are suitable for almost anyone! So buckle up ladies and gents, because....

    How'd you play?

@MattF, @DiscipleofPenick, @Mr_Theoo and I met at Deer Ridge Golf Course about halfway between Cleveland and Columbus. In my opinion, this is a hidden gem that I had never heard of until we started talking about playing there. It's kind of in the middle of nowhere. The elevation changes are really dramatic, making club selection tricky, even with Arccos giving us a "plays like" distance. There are a couple "gimicky" holes on the front, but in general, I really liked the course. The visuals were very deceptive, but I assume that had a lot to do with the number of uphill, downhill, and blind shots. The greens were also pretty tricky, so there were plenty of 3-putts from us. Below is a picture from the 8th tee - Arccos said it was ~150 feet down to the fairway. The pic doesn't really do it justice. As far as the play, I started out really well with 3 straight pars (including the #1 handicap hole), then settled into what was more typical golf for me. Driver was not great most of the day - I think I was getting too steep and there were too many flares. Approach was its typical level of OK-ness with some really good shots and some tragic. I ended up with an 87 (my course HC from the tees we played was a 12). I want to play the course again - now that we've seen it and have a better idea of the visual tricks, I think we could do better, or at least would be able to pick better targets.

I spec’d out the blue DF3 with alignment lines: I (two lines), X (LAB logo), & G (line all the way to the back). I landed on the counterbalanced option with the Garsen quad tour 17 grip and the long (36.5” TPT shaft). This thing looks !!!

After work toast, I'm planning on playing 9 with a friend to take the edge off of the week. Still have a busy week ahead of me, so I need to be productive so I can enjoy the weekend. 30. Good morning everyone! I'm finally sitting in the parking lot in my own car and not driving the wife's SUV. It's weird as I feel I'm sitting lower to the ground than I was, imagine that. It's going to be rainy the next couple of days so I don't think golf is in my future. They cancelled our Saturday work (yay!), so my wife immediately stated "you can help with yard work!" (Boo!). Welcome aboard @Billy The Kid Rogers and @shady 101, Any friend of Matt's is slightly suspect to me. I hope you all have a great day!

  34. Stix Golf Compete Driver – Official MGS Forum Review by Zjeb67 Good Morning! Fact check: I’m not a millionaire, but I feel like one being selected as a tester. No yacht either, but I own a canoe. I’m Joe, a lifelong southeast Michigander (Detroit and environs). I have one wife, two dogs and three (adult) kids. (Old pic, I have much more grey hair now) For decades, while the kids were growing up, I was a once a year or less golfer. After a dismal outing at the annual school friend outing, I decided to get better. I joined a work league in 2023 and really got bit by the golfing bug. To paraphrase Axl Rose: “I used to golf a little but a little wouldn't do it So the little got more and more I just keep tryin' to golf a little better Said, a little better than before” Practicing quite a bit on the backyard simulator has improved the swing speed from low 90s to low 100s. On a couple outdoor rounds I was actually able to shape a fade with my driver. This is new and uncharted territory, before a consistent strike would be enough. I plan on testing the Stix Compete Driver on my weekly work league, and at the driving range and in the backyard sim with my SC4 launch monitor. I’ll compare this to the Callaway WD RH MAVRIK 22 DR 9.0 GR STF I bought in March. Between the speed increases and the stiffer flex, drives have gone from 190-200s to 215-230s. Things I’m looking for are distance, shot consistency, ability to find the center of the club face and if I can replicate a fade shot. Who knows, maybe I’ll even learn how to hit a draw. While I had not heard of Stix before, I am absolutely thrilled to be a tester. The driver titanium and graphite combo might just be the medicine my golf game needs. Looking to improve fairways hit and I will stay with this driver as I’m valuing precision first and distance second. (Is it possible I’m matured from the John Daly grip it and rip it school of thought?!?!?)

  35. morning all... hope everyone enjoyed the weekend and was able to do something golf related. I didn't have a chance to play but was able to practice for a few hours. preliminary results for my wife look good - a very common form of cancer that is treatable. hoping to get more detail soon and get a surgical appointment asap. thanks again for everyone's kind thoughts and prayers. pretty sure I need to switch to graphite shafts in my irons. my right elbow - even with a brace on - kills me after playing/practicing. kinda bummed about it, but it is what it is. if anyone has any graphite iron shafts they really like I'm all ears. I typically play a 115-120g shaft - was fit into Dynamic Gold 120, Project X LZ, modus 120 previously but I'm not opposed to something lighter. have a great Monday!

  36. Monday morning has arrived with work as its calling card. “ Those people “ will be extracting their pound of flesh from me for this next coming week. Yesterday, was able to get in a few holes of my second round back before the rain ended the day. Being out on the course was marvelous, trash talking with my playing partners was fabulous, and my play was absolutely horrendous. NO more attempts at golf until this coming weekend. As we start the week, I would like to share with the many of the forum that are dog people….. Have a magnificent start to your week my fellow spies…

  38. Good morning Spies on a cloudy and cooler Sunday morning here. Have a round scheduled for this afternoon and hoping that the ground will not be too wet or soggy from an overnight rain we had. Spent yesterday at two (2) different events/locations doing some volunteer work for Leader Dogs, but also managed to get some pictures of some of the things at each place, as well as some of the vehicles there. Will post in the "Random Thread" area about those, but also wanted to share the links to the pictures on Google here, so anyone who visits MGS may have the opportunity to view them if they chose to do so. Weather forecast here for the next 10 days looks to be cooler with rain about every other day, so may be more range and practice putting green time than actual course time? Hope your day is the best it can be, and that something fun and enjoyable is in your plans. 39. Oh jez, I also forgot to mention in my post that I hit the DarkspeedX at Golf Galaxy yesterday while my wife was at an appointment in Madison! Screenshot is one of the best shots I hit with it, and had more than a few with similar results. Ball speed I thought was impressive as I was not getting my swing going any faster than 102s, speed definitely is down from last year so once I can get it back to 105-110, there’s some serious distance potential. Last swing of the day I didnt take a photo of, but it was 102s ball speed with 151 ball speed and 278 total distance. Can’t wait for Tuesday when it is supposed to arrive!

  40. Happy Sunday morning spies! Beautiful day ahead of us today and while I’d love to get out on the course again, we are having a birthday party for our oldest with his friends. It’ll be at the bowling alley (his first sport love) from 12-3. At least 14 7-8 year olds. Please pray for me and SWMBO. It should be plenty fun and I imagine go pretty quick as I try to manage all that energy lol. My morning round yesterday, as mentioned, was about as bad as I’ve played in recent memory. Then I took the boys out for a few holes in the evening and proceeded to shoot +5 over 5 holes lol. Was +2 through 3 then had a double on the 4th hole we played and a bogey on the 5th hole. Golf is a maddening game, lol. Maybe I’ll luck out and get some range and/or practice net time at some point today, we will see!

Just looking forward to being out there. Not planning on practicing or working on any particular part of the game. Realizing that I will probably be all over the course, I will embrace an enhanced viewpoint of my game including along the lines of I again want to thank everyone for their support and good wishes. I will attempt to play it forward to others in the future. Today however I plan on being that self entitled jerk and concentrate only on May this Saturday be the start of a wonderful weekend for whatever you choose to do.

  43. Good Wednesday morning all! As expected yesterday was a busy work day with new fun errors found including a report that somehow disappeared despite being tested and deemed ready to go. So I get to add it to the list of things that need to be done as soon as possible. At least today the weather will be crummy so I won't want to be outside while I toil away. Did get out for a run at lunch and it was absolutely gorgeous with just a few clouds in the sky. The kids went on a hike and had and absolute blast. Great to see them getting into the outdoor activities. Welcome @Billy The Kid Rogers and @shady 101 Have a great day everyone!

  44. Good morning MGS Yesterday was a bit hectic but I survived it. Went to the range while waiting for a delivery that was 2 hours late focused on a straight back takeaway as I had been getting too far inside and dispersion was awful of late. However, with the straight back focus my ball flight straightened out and distance began to normalized again. Worked the ball a bit to the right as well which was nice to see again. I don’t try and manipulate the club at impact, but rather grip it with it set a bit open and it was working on command again! Around 6:30-7:00 last night went to mow the lawn and my neighbor left me a gift. first one went great nice 40 yard pitch into the woods. Impact was a little higher than I like on the face but I was happy with it none the less Have a great day everyone!

    How'd you play?

Victor Hills East…it’s $22 to walk 18 and while it ins’t the best conditioned course it has a lot of tricky holes that aren’t the typical bombs away. I am feeling it after walking 3 hours but man it felt good. Shot 37 / 38 with some really good holes and some not so good. A lot of good work with the S159’s for the forum testing and had 3 tee balls with the infamous U505 that I’d been struggling with. @GolfSpy_SHARK will be pleased to hear that it was working quite well today. Also made some changes with my driver setup @chisag and the TSi3 is working well. I am setting the ball up off the heel rather than the toe and contact has been night and day better. I’m also at a D3 setting which surprising to me, has worked out in my favor. This was a bit of a process on the range last week and I needed a new approach…so far, so good. Highlight of the day was tee balls on the par 3’s. I hit every green and feel really dialed in with my irons right now. Feeling good. Hope you all are having as much fun.

  46. Good Monday Morning Spies! 67 degrees and sunny morning! No golf today, slept in, now enjoying nice cup of hot espresso! Catching up on Perry Mason reruns before working, from home! In the words of @EasyPutterZero commute today. Busy weekend of Ranger duties, so kind of slow this morning. Have a Great Day Everyone and Hit’em Straight ️

Good morning all. A wet start to the day here and looks similar for a few days this week. Back to work!
