  1. Played 18 today but with the course being absolutely soaked, and cart path only, I decide to use it as a “practice” round. It was great to play even though the conditions weren’t great. I played the last 10 holes without my driver…. I hit my drive on 8, leaned over to grab the tee, and SNAP! Ugh. PRAYING I can pick-up the replacement before I head home Friday. The Edel wedges were RIDICULOUS today… Seriously, SO good!

  2. This bug has been reported and we have passed it along to our developer to sort out along with various other changes. I know it isn't the easiest right now, but hoping very soon to have serval fixes to all of the related issues which have been brought up in this thread.

  3. UPDATE: Okay everyone we and by we the developer has made some of the changes we requested and I am sure is working on more as I write this! To mark off the check list of requested items Photos bug, all comment photos appear at top of the page- FIXED Reactions (likes and such) for testers reviews - FIXED so please go like all their reviews! Signatures - Will show for testers in review at the moment - Partial FIX (honest question do we need them in the actual comment section) Mentions bug (brings to the bottom of review page not where mention or quote is) - Tested and FIXED Secondary Tab- What we have asked for is a separate review tab. After the testing is closed that comment tab will close as well. The review tab will then open up when we have announced testers. Showing in recent content - At the moment the streams "default" to not selecting the tests box, I am searching and trying to find the way it will default to all content and therefore show up without having to create stream or adjust any of that and this will then solve the issue where people who use recent content and it not showing up and missing out on it. Testing Opportunities header - This along with reviews header is something we are looking at as to how to reorganize it to make it simpler and more clear. Because the new testing runs separately it will be a bit different, but we will continue to brainstorm ideas and see some of these changes soon to just make it simply better. My Spelling and Grammer: TBD hehe If any of this is not showing for you please let me know.

  7. Had been struggling with pressure shift again and ending up on the back foot. Did some reviewing of old lesson videos and also some slow motion dry swings and realized some of the problem is that I'm starting the downswing by ripping my shoulders open. My shoulders open, my left/lead arm gets pinned across my chest, I hit thin blocks or smother hooks and early extend leaving me on my trail side. During my last lesson my instructor had been talking about keeping my back to the target feeling. I've never had much luck with that, but today realized that I had been doing it "wrong." I would keep my back to the target but slide into the ball, which doesn't solve anything. Went to the range at lunch today with careful intention to feel like I kept my upper body back and practice it slowly until I could work up into full swings. What a difference!!! I hit the ball so well, probably the best range session of the season. And, I was in really good balance throughout my swing. I hit quite a few drivers and still need to play with ball position some more. I tend to get too far forward with the ball (outside my front foot) and I end up hitting straight pulls. Still, my impact dispersion was fantastic for the number of balls I hit. Such a good range session probably means the next round will be crap, but oh well!

  8. I don't video my swing. It's working and I'm afraid I will see something and want to adjust something. I have to practice but never do, never hit the range but I must. I am so close to achieving my own personal goal that I thought was just a pipe dream. I just received my USGA handicap update from the Tennessee Golf Association yesterday. I am currently at a 1.1. handicap index. I had six rounds in the sixty's this season so far. I usually have maybe one or two. So, I was always content with being a 5 handicap then things just happened over the last two to three years. I'm attributing a lot of this from being active in MGS and some equipment changes and testing opportunities to get me motivated and focused. My challenge........ Can I get below a 1.0 this season. It's so hard to lower your handicap when it gets low, one bad round can screw up the progress. I'm not talking a really bad round, but enough to be used in the calculations to move me in the wrong direction. I'll have to have a serious conversation with myself every round. Keep calm, focus, play smart, and have fun (in short, don't choke). So I am working from home today. In 30 minutes it will be time for lunch. (I keep my home schedule the same for work) I am committing myself to go out into the yard and hit wedges from 50 to 85 yards to my backyard pin. Soon the balls should show up for my testing of the Maxfli Tour and Tour X balls. I think the focus for the testing should be enough to help me reach my goal. I can't remember when I was this nervous and excited at the same time. I am actually going to work hard at this. To achieve this at my age (62) will be monumental for me and I hope it inspires others. It doesn't matter how old you get you can still get better.

  9. Today was another range day, and initial testing between the Ventus and Motore X. Two side notes: LOVE what I'm seeing from the Epic Max LS with both shafts. This is from yesterday, but I saw a lot more like this today TSi3 Hybrid now has my KBS Hybrid Proto shaft in it (swapped with the Speedzone Hybrid) and it feels great. I'm still getting plenty of height on the shots so now I just need to dial in the loft settings to get the right distance. I hit some balls that deserved to go screaming left that would have held on to the edge of the fairway or stopped in the rough. For the Ventus vs Motore X man oh man I'm going to need some time, and hard numbers to decide. They both feel great in different ways. I'm going to start a thread and share my thoughts and comparisons between them. I was hitting both really well today.

  10. I just wanted to echo what the others have said - we all really do appreciate the work you, the mods, and the developers have been putting into this. I think it's safe to say that we all love this forum and want to make sure it's able to provide the best way for testers/reviewers to show the work they've put into things, and make conversations easy for readers both old and new. I'm really hopeful that the changes address the feedback you've patiently listened to and given updates on.

  12. Thanks for the update and effort to get a lot of these bugs resolved. While I'll miss seeing my calves (3 times no less!) every time I go to read updates on the Callaway Epic driver testing thread it sure is nicer to get taken right to the content you were trying to get to! Also feels good to acknowledge the effort testers have put into their intros or reviews and show them we are reading even if we're not actively commenting in a test.

Half of our foursome bailed today, so we played a leisurely round as a twosome. After back to back birdies on 15 and 16, I take a double on 17 and bogey 18 to finish at 4 over, 76 (38/38). The practice session that I did earlier in the week with my driver paid off as I drove the ball fairly well today.

Boy oh boy did I play terrible this weekend. However my excuse is that I took my five year old out for the first time and I was to busy enjoying watching him cheat as he put the ball a foot away from the hole and ended up three putting. Don't worry buddy we've all been there.

    How'd you play?

... Yup, I think we all prefer the GOOD stupid bogies. ... I play with some higher index Asian guys and 2 of them bought PXG. Said it was a complete waste of money and they shoulda used the $ for lessons. One sold his and is back in TaylorMade M4 irons. The other said it doesn't matter what irons he plays because he either hits it well or very poorly so he is keeping his. I get so sick of hearing that obnoxious loudmouth during every TV telecast, even LPGA events. And I am not talking about the Bob Parsons (everything I hear and read says he is a good guy) but his LOUD commercial persona that to me at least represents everything I dislike about modern golf from driving carts onto the fringe, playing music at a level the entire course can hear, drinking to excess, can't be b bothered to rapier divots or ball marks and playing at their own pass ... s-l-o-w.

Thanks guys! No golf on schedule today; I'm preaching at a Bible camp in Colorado next week, and so I literally have about a dozen sermons to prepare this week. But I think Kirke and I might might head out early in the morning tomorrow, if I make adequate progress today. Headed home in about an hour to grill up some chicken wings. And my wife is making me this totally ridiculous, over-the-top cake for tonight (the first recipe in this video):

8:00 am Tee Time, humidity not bad , slight breeze, greens recently too dressed but rolling decent and quick. Bad, stupid bogies 1st 2 holes with one ball that drowned itself because it didn’t like the drive! After that woke up!! Killin the Driver TSI2, irons great, putter still spotty with 1 Bird (missed 2 that were makeable). Ended up +2, 38. Can’t whine about that. Had a conversation with group in front of us while waiting on Tee. 2 of the guys had brand new full sets of PXG!! They said the clubs were great. Got a chance to watch them Tee Off, ummm should have spent some money on lessons 1st.

    Got Problems?

This is my caddie. There are many like it, but this one is mine. Without my caddie I am useless. Without me, my caddie is useless. Not earning their paycheck… might have to source another caddie. Oh, and my driver sucks, this face does not allow me to hit straight drives. My razor is dull too, no need to live on the edge of it.

    How'd you play?

Played really well today. Could hit driver anywhere I wanted which made things WAY easier! Unfortunately I had 4 bad iron swings…they led to 3 double bogeys and cost me huge today. Could have cruised to a sub 80 round but came up just short. I am so furiously close to playing some of my most consistent and best golf…75 is out there for me just gotta keep grinding.

  33. i have finally figured out what is going on with my grip that causes me issues vs. when i am gripping properly. My problematic grip is when the grip gets too much vertically in my fingers in the left hand. This causes my clubface to generally be too closed, so i either pull it left or try to hold it open on the downswing and push/push slice it right. i have come up with a couple of things i can easily key in on to ensure i am properly gripping the club.

  39. Ordered 52/56/60 SM8 raw wedges, they came in and unfortunately they built the 52 to the wrong length. Moving to a 4 wedge setup after basically always playing 3. Next step is to figure out how to combine my hybrid and 3 iron.

    How'd you play?

Thanks KennyB….Well, it is 400 yards longer from the Senior Tees(gold) and 150 yards longer from the Super Senior Tees(Green). I play Senior Tees Tuesday & Thursday then the Super Senior Tees on Saturday. The Ghin handicap is 2 strokes between Gold & Green plus 2 strokes between Pebble and Plantation Palms from the gold tees. Add in familiarity and yes it is a bit harder. I have played it on Tuesdays last year so I am getting familiar with it. It will be my club starting August.

It appears that Plantation Palms plays a little harder than Pebble Creek, or are you less familiar with the course? Scores should come down when you start playing it all the time.
