I think Caddy offered something that looked similar to a truck but it would stick out like a sore thumb besides a real truck. I'm a truck man all the way ! I've had my current truck since 1998 so it's not quite broke in good but she's my baby. We've had a few bumps and bruises from repairs along the way however the only thing I need right now is a new seat cover.

Yeah basically an Escalade with an open back. Not sure what they might be hauling around with it .. maybe a couple of toy poodles?

If I had 100k to spend on a sports car I'd buy a Cadillac every time.

I think they make some of the best under the radar fun to drive cars on the road.

That CTS-V is something to behold.

If I'm getting a truck I go with the Ford. That's been their bread and butter for decades...

What do y'all think of the guy who shot 93-105 in the Web.com event? I think it's ridiculous that you can get a sponsor's exemption like that. Essentially stealing a spot from a guy who's out there trying to make a living...

Hopefully he learned his lesson and the embarrassment will deter him from future pro golf tournaments.  I'm thinking this (his score) could be a record of sorts.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that since this guy is Colombian, the sponsor used this exemption to return a favor.

I could have done that. Maybe even bested his score. Would have had a helluva time doing so too.

Ok, now take my comparisons and put golf club companies in place of the car.

Would you go with the good priced club you don't really care for but it's cheap so what the heck.

Or the proven winner at full price?

New from the manufacturer.

I would never buy something I don't care for just because it's cheap.

I don;'t agree with the statement that he is stealing a spot from a guy.  Tournaments are given 1 or 2 sponsors exemption for the tournament.  They can add anyone to those spots and generally use it to return favors or generate interest in the event.  Fundamentally it wasn't a spot that would have been available for a journeyman player.  Works the same at all tournaments; some work out better than others.

They did the same thing with Steph Curry last year. It was a free spot, didn't take away from the actual field.

Not cheaply made, just a discounted price off sticker.

I'd get what you want even if it's a bit higher priced. Otherwise you'll be regretting the purchase when your favorite drives by you.

Sounds as if you're asking if I could learn to like it...I suppose that might be possible, but I don't think the cost of it would be much of a difference maker....depends how much I dislike it to begin with.

Here is one to ponder. Many complain that this is a rich mans game. For the average income golfer. How many funds should they set aside for golf each year to enjoy this great game?

And I will also donate a set of my older clubs and many golf balls to this person above.

Keep it in the short stuff

It all comes down to each individual's situation. I think everyone has to be responsible in setting a budget in terms of both time and money when it comes to golf, but no two budgets will be the same because everyone has different priorities.

Just because someone plays 4 days a week as opposed to the person who plays twice a month doesn't mean that either person is enjoying golf more than the other.

And I think when it comes to equipment we all have to put blinders on and not ruin our own enjoyment of the game because someone else keeps getting the new and shiny gear.

Just like with other things in life, we each have to make our own decisions with what makes us happy

Oh absolutely. Golf can be as cheap or as expensive as you want it to be. If at any point the cost outweighs the enjoyment then it's time to change things.

Gave him a real basic set of clubs.About 8 dozen used but good golf balls.I even found him a membership at an 18 hole executive course in always great condition for $250 a year.Cant think of too many sports for under $250 for the whole season. He can't complain that much now

Keep it in the short stuff
