MGoBlue100
Great start guys!! I played the original JGR driver for the past 2 years and I like it a lot. This one looks a little better. I'm curious about MGoBlue's results because i think he has was playing the same driver. Definitely have been, yes. I'm finding myself wishing the JGR had an adjustable hosel, because I would LOVE to take a few other shafts for a spin. The face on this new Tour B JGR is HOT! To that I can attest. I may be searching for a different shaft over the winter. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy MaxEntropy, MattF and GeekingGolf 3 Quote "Where'd it go?" "Right in the Lumberyard..." Are you able to dig a ball out of a divot if necessary? I haven't been in a divot, so I can't talk to that point. I've had zero problems getting the ball airborne out of the rough. Granted, its been a pretty dry summer for us so most of the rough has relatively thin and dry, but with all the rain we had this week we'll hopefully get a better assessment soon. I haven't seen any reason to think it will be a problem, though. Are you able to dig a ball out of a divot if necessary? I have hit the 3w once out of light rough. The contact was clean and crisp, i pushed the shot way right, but that was more a path issue than club. I wouldn't hesitate to do use it again from that same lie, maybe not deep rough though. Last night I was faced with a lie where the ball was several inches below my feet on down-slope and nestled down between rough and some bare spots. I took my time making sure I had a good solid stance, bent my knees enough to stay down on it. And made a pretty solid pass at it. It came out not real high probably more low to mid at most height, but got a good 150 or so yards out of it, which is all I was really hoping for to bet me back in position for my shot to the green (par 5) it did seem to come out pretty hot. Golfspy_CG2
So last night even though I got spanked by the No1 seed. I came away happy with the way I drove the ball. It was validated today when I saw him and he said to me. "I was really impressed with the way you got off the tee last night. Have to admit I didn't expect that from a 17 HC" Quite a compliment from a guy who has legit Tour level length. I watched him at a TM Demo day earlier this year. He was hitting 119 on the LM with the driver. Last night he almost drove the green of an uphill 340 yard par 4. Was 50 yards out on a 360 yard one and hsd 155 into a 495 yard par 5. For shits and giggles he hit a TM Utility iron off the lasf tee out to 265. MattF
In regards to the 3 wood, my JPX-EZ looks like it may be retired to the basement because of the JGR. I didn't think anything would kick that out of the bag but it very well may. The 3 hybrid and I don't get along at the moment, but a date with some lead tape MAY fix that. The 4 hybrid is a bit of a beast for me right now, but we'll see how it hold up.
