Not bad conditions, just bad shots.   This is the green I struggled with.   There is big slope in the middle of the green;  my approach shot hit the top of the hill and rolled about 3 feet off the front.   I then hit  4 chip shots that got to the top and then rolled back to the same spot before I hit one hard enough to stay on top.

First round in over a month - lots of good but it included 2 doubles and a triple (trap).

I couldn't better yesterday's score, but overall played pretty well... 39/39=78 with 2 natural birdies and 2 net birdies.

Too bad my wife isn't posting;  she shot 43/39=82 with a course handicap of 15.  She also had one natural birdie, 5 net birdies and a net eagle... 82 equaled her best ever score, and that included a double on #16 that was avoidable.

MGS Forum Virtual WCT (Weekly Championship Tour) Week 2 Final Scores are IN!

A total of 20 posted scores this week - thank you to all the participants and sharing your rounds with the forum. The full leaderboard can be seen at the top of this thread.

This week - the early leader in the clubhouse held on to his lead through the whole week to put on the MGS Forum WCT Black Jacket.  

@GolfSpy_APH strategically worked his way around the Golf Club Oberkirch in Switzerland to a net score 65 (6 under par) round claiming the low net score for the week and the priviledge to wear the MGS Forum WCT Black Jacket!

@MGoBlue100and @EasyPuttercame in close behind with a tie for 2nd shooting Net 69's (3 under par) each AND held on to 1st place in net birdies or better in a round it a total of 8!

  

And the Longest Drive of Week 2 belongs to @DiscipleofPenick , posting a drive of 297 yards.

Congratulations to all the winners this week, and enjoy the bragging rights of having the badges added to your profile for the rest of this week. 

See you all on the courses next week for Week 3!!

Thank you all for participating and I will be looking hard to complete the back to back although on a course I am not nearly as good at so we will see! If I am lucky maybe I will get two rounds in this week. 

Been great to see everyone posting their rounds and hoping the trend continues!

I'm sorry that I missed the entirety of this.  I don't even pay attention to Net Birdies so I can't recall how many I had. I did have one real birdie.  Given the number of pars that I had I probably had a bushel basket full.  I was 7 over on 3 holes.  

 

My long drive was 238

Congrats @GolfSpy_APH Nice Shootin'  !! 

However your 65 is such a wide margin of victory we will need to check behind your ears for sticky substances much like the Mets manager requested during the playoff game last night when they couldn't hit the Padres pitcher!!!

Thankfully i have witnesses! Truthfully i Love that course and played well there before so it all matched up. It's a hard course but suits my eye and again good memories. This week I'm back to my normal course which i have struggled at so we will see!

Its not that we expect to find anything its a plot to throw you off your game when you discover how much you like the ear check!

Handicap: 5.5

Gross: 80

Thanks for posting Philip.  Hopefully you can get a round in this week for Week 3!! Bomb of a drive you hit there!!

I'm playing in a competition on Saturday so will get my round in for week 3. 

I actually hit a longer drive on the one hole but was about 20yards left so didn't count that as the longest drive, the fairways here are nice and firm on some of the holes. But the layout on the course only allow me to hit driver on 6 of the 18 holes, the rest I use a long iron or 3 wood to stay out of the trees, or short of the trees in the middle of the fairway. I am really working hard on getting the driver to work better and more consistent. Have a nasty fade when I don't rotate properly on my backswing with the driver.

That's great!  I hope you play well (as much for your competition as ours :)).  I am very familiar with that uncompleted turn issue... though my errant shots sound like they are about 75-100 yards closer to where I started than yours are.

Thank you, the problem with hitting it long is that errant shots end up deep in the bush, sometimes as far as 100yards off line which then make holes very interesting and usually very long.

You know I love that course, althought I wasn't thrilled with a certain Regional Champioship that I took part in there. many years ago...ha

Nope but I did 3 putt that green.  It was the 6th.
