Weather update for Sunday:

High of 57, 70% chance of rain. Rain in the morning, then scattered showers throughout the day. 

Tomorrow is decision day on if we're gonna go or not, so if anyone wants to chime in, now's the time.

I’m fine with the 58° the rain is what I worry bout. Hopefully that’ll change

That's my opinion too, the temp is ok, and the course drains amazingly well, which is why I picked it for April. But that high % of rain is tough.

You know if we cancel it will be a perfect day, but if we go for it its gonna rain.

I'm ok either way.  I don't think the forecasts are accurate enough this far out to call it off for what looks like on Weather app a one-hour rain.

The two sites/apps I'm looking at are a bit conflicting - one looks like it might not be too bad, maybe some sprinkles, the other looks like light rain pretty much the whole time.

I understand. I've played some courses in Cleveland. Manakiki stands out as a great course, IMO. Worth the money. Most courses in my area are $35 to $38 on weekends with a cart. There are some outliers, but they are not the norm. Turkeyfoot is a really fun course, but I just don't see the justification for $50 greens fees for it.... other than it's close to Firestone.

Chiming in here because I'm getting assigned to Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton this summer.  I report in late July, and junior will inevitably have football and fall baseball so I'm not sure how likely I am to get out much, but I'll certainly loiter on this thread (and go introduce myself in the regional thread).

If anyone is in Dayton specifically DM me if you want to meet up at some point.  I have previously been assigned there, but that was 18 years ago and I wasn't a golfer then.

Great tracks in the Dayton area. Our Ohio trip bounces around but are going back to Dayton this year. Yankee Trace, Heatherwood and Beavercreek!!

Last I looked the rain should not head into the afternoon. Let’s hope that holds.

As of right now, chance of rain Sunday is essentially gone while we are on the course. Maybe a chance for a shower as we are finishing, but that's about it.

I still plan to post an update Sunday morning, but guys driving in, make sure you are searching for Portage Lakes in your weather app if you don't want to depend on me or it's not posted by the time you were planning to leave.

Fun day and the course was in great shape. I only took one picture - one of my favorite tee shots in the area.

Hard to see from the pic, but it's way down hill from the tee to the fairway.

As far as play, it was a tale of two nines for me. +9 46 on the front, +2 37 on the back. I was even par on the back when we stepped to the 18th tee. See the How'd You Play thread for the description of the brutal double  to finish.

Completely missed this latest meet-up.  How many spies did you end up in attendance? Spy meets top my list of interest as they are fun to hear about and even more fun to participate in.  I've met some great folks, now friends.
