Not too many in 30+ years actually.

Spaulding executives for all my teen years.

Cleveland Ta3 I bought with $ from my first decent job in my 20s. I took a long break from golf with these gathering dust. About 5 years ago I regripped them and started using them again.

I picked up individual short irons from Ping G25 and Titleist T200 and made a couple mixed sets using the long irons from the Cleveland set during that time.

Finally I bought my current Apex '19 irons about 2 1/2 years ago.

Mine's a short list so I can rank easily.

1)Call Apex '19 6-AW 2)Ping G25 7-9i/Cleveland ta3 5-7i combo set I created 3)Titleist T200 8-9i/CG ta3 5-8i similar to #2 4) CG Ta3 form forged 3-9i (never used the 3 much) 5) Spaulding executives.

Sub70 699 6-PW on the way to try to crack the list at/near the top.

... Tough question because some have emotional value and some were just the right iron at the right time. But these are some of my personal favorite/standouts.

Maxfli Revolution Black Dot ... Copper layer and classic design make these a HOF iron

Tommy Armour 845 ... Legendary irons when I was on staff with Tommy Armour

Golfsmith 600CB ... Best component CB iron head ever made

Tour Stage Z101 ... Quality of construction and feel are amazing

Nike Forged MB ... Imo the most classic MB ever made

Cobra SS Forged ... My first Cobra iron

Cobra Amp Forged, Cobra Fly Z, Cobra Forged Tour  ... All 3 were identical construction but different aesthetics. I could play any of them today

Titleist 762B ... Started with a combo set of 690MB and liked the 762B's so much went full set

Taylor Made MC Forged ... These are the ones with the screw in the back and such a classic design still played on tour

Cobra MIM Tour ... Current irons and my favorite ever with a combination of everything I love in an iron.

For me it was the Mixed Adams forged CB3 / Pro A12 set but My current Maltby Ke4 Max 4/ TS3 is getting up there.

Longest was the Rbladez Max. Japan market mostly. Half hollow irons half cavity backs. Very long and forgiving but when I hit it flush, it often went 15 yards further or "flyers" so consistency wasnt great.

Beautiful rare clubs though for 2014

I’m sure I’m on the low end by far for someone in his early 50’s but I’ve only owned five sets of irons:

1) Kro Flite muscle back blades from the 1950’s that I learned with - for those who are unfamiliar imagine hitting a club where anything but a perfect center strike feels like you were swinging a rock on the end of a piece of rebar.

2) Spalding Elite Plus - 1979 - a nice thin bladed set that I got from my father

3) Tommy Armour 845s - my first purchase after graduating college and getting a job

4) Acer XDS pro series - I learned amateur clubmaking in the 90’s from a guy at my first job and built this set myself.  I played them for 20+ years and my lowest index of 2.8

5) Callaway Apex 21 - my current set which is more appropriate for my age and swing speed now.

My fairway woods and especially my driver have turned over much more frequently though.

Titleist TS3 9 deg Grafalloy Pro Launch Red Supercharged - regular

TaylorMade SIM Titanium 3 wood Grafalloy Pro Launch Blue Supercharged - regular

Titleist TSi 2 5 wood Tensei Blue - regular

Titleist TS2 hybrid 23 deg Tensei Blue - regular

Callaway Apex 21 irons 5-PW KBS Max 80 regular

Cleveland CBX ZipCore 49 deg gap wedge Project X 5.5 shaft

Titleist Vokey SM4 54/8 deg sand wedge Project X 5.5 shaft

Cleveland RTX ZipCore 58/8 deg lob wedge Project X 5.5 shaft

Odyssey 2-ball blade DFX putter with UST frequency filtered shaft and Winn 1.38 grip

Four, I think.  However my current set of irons, Cleveland CBX Launcher, are the first ones I was fitted for.  I realized a good improvement when I started using them.

6 drivers, 5 sets, 4 putters over 20 years. First was a gift set from my grandad when I was in high school. I can't remember a thing bout them other than the color of the bag, dark brown. Nothing fancy and rarely made it through 9 holes. Finally started getting into golf in 2008 with a burner driver, adams idea irons, cleveland wedges, and an odyssey putter. Took a few lessons and really started to get into it, but then quickly moved in 2010 and wouldn't touch a club for years outside of the occasional rental club at Chelsea Pier driving range. Moving back west and about to discover my new hobby (read obsession) I picked up a used R7 and pared it with a set of dimension z irons and a used Scotty Cameron. That R7 was and still is an amazing driver. I'd happily play one today. And for the putter? I didn't even know what a Scotty Cameron was but while I was looking for a cheap used putter at the PGA Superstore and found a putter I couldn't miss with. I ended up paying less than $150 for it and we had magical run together. As I started to progress quickly it didn't take me long to move into a set of 718 AP2's paired with my first Titleist driver and the same Scotty. Since then I've picked up the newer TSi 3 driver and woods, swapped out the AP2's for the shiny MP 20's and finally parted ways with the Scotty in favor of my current Evnroll ER2.

That's quite an impressive collection of iron sets! It's always fun to have a variety to choose from when it comes to golf clubs. It's interesting how our collections can grow over time, with each set holding its own unique Stand characteristics. Thanks for sharing your list, and it's amusing to hear about the "what about this and what about that" conversations with your wife. Happy golfing!

Only 4 sets:

1) In high school (but not for team play through 1996...just purely recreational) because both the clubs and me were terrible - Wilson Staff Blades with DG X stiff shafts

2) 1996 through 2020 - Yonex Super ADX Tour with Boron Graphite Tour X shafts...so buttery soft but also so very short...

3) 2020-2022: Cobra Forged Tec (2016), forest with C-Taper Lite 115 Stiff shafts and then with Project X LZ 6.0 shafts.

4) Got fitted last year...2022-present: Mizuno Pro 223 with Nippon 1150gh stiff shafts.

Kinda tempted by my son's new set of Apex TCBs he just picked up though...man do those feel good, and other than they were too short for me and the 130X Nippon Modus shafts were WAY too much for me, I really liked the feel of those heads!

The first set I remember was a Walmart Acuity box set.  Then, a Ram set (again,Walmart box set).  My first real set was the Adams IdeaTech V4’s, used.  It was the first set I bought myself.  Then came some Mizuno JPX 825s gifted to me that I’m still playing now.

The first driver not from a set was a Callaway Diablo Octane.  Then, a Cleveland Custom XL, Taylormade SLDR, and now a Callaway Epic Max LS.

Wedges:  First stand-alone wedge was a Tom Watson 56*.  Then, I grabbed a Ping Tour Gorge 58*.  Now, I have a set (50, 54, 58) of Cleveland RTX-3s.

Putters:  First stand alone putter was a Taylormade White Smoke ln-12.  Then, an Odyssey O-Works 1WS.  And now a Taylormade Berwick.

I have owned around five different sets of golf clubs throughout my lifetime. Starting with a beginner set, I gradually upgraded to mid-range clubs for better performance. I've explored various brands, including Ukc.com.np, to find clubs that suit my playing style. Currently, I am using a set from -- that provides the ideal balance of control, distance, and forgiveness. Each set has contributed to my development as a golfer, helping me refine my skills and find the right clubs for me.

You brought out my curious side I had to Google machine your clubs. Some interesting tech in there for being decades old.

Throughout my life, I've owned maybe five different sets of golf clubs. I started with a novice set and worked my way up to mid-range clubs for improved results. I've looked through a number of websites, such as Ukc.com.np, to locate clubs that fit my playing style. I'm now utilizing a set from -- that ozempic canada offers the perfect amount of forgiveness, distance, and control. My ability level has increased with each set, and I've been able to identify the best clubs for my game.

In reviewing this list you’ll see that I was trying to buy a lower score!  Working, raising kids and caring for a sick wife cut into my practice time.  I was sure, a lesson for some of you, that by buying a new set with the “latest technology” I could improve.  In the end, practice, practice, and more practice reduced my handicap.

Good memories about the past.  I gave away most these sets to either my kids or work associates who couldn’t afford a decent set - decent used liberally with some of these sets.  I still see people from time to time at charity events using the set I gave them.

Hmmm ... two used/hand me down sets ... Callaway Big Berthas and Ben Hogen Apex irons ... First in the mid 90's then the second in the early 2000's both with a mix of Ebay and gold store bargain bin woods/drivers. Now a set of Cobra LTDx Irons/woods and Aerojet driver.  Story HERE.

Now if you want to talk skis, well over a couple hundred sets ... there are about 50 pairs of next years skis in our garage ... but in fairness thats our job.
