I need to find a quality but inexpensive 5x5 or 4x5 matt that will let me cut out the hitting strip area for a Holy Grail hitting strip insert. That might be the best thing to do for both cost and joint saving.

I recommend this. I don't feel any real difference between this and any other mats I have stood on, including those at premium fitting locations. I cut in a Sig Pro.
