What the heck is "Links golf club?"

So, as a golf digest reader, I got sent this add, for "Links golf club": https://www.links.golf/membership?utm_source=golf_digest_eblast&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=golf_digest&utm_content=golf_digest_eblast&uuid=93d0d2504a8544eb81fae680cb99502f.

It allegedly provides simple folk like myself access to private club courses, member events, and discounted merch that we would otherwise not have access to.

Has anyone ever used this service? If so was it worth it? If not, should I volunteer as tribute and test it out?

I just received this too.  I've been looking at different private club options on my browser, so apparently they've got me pegged as a club-snob.

To my knowledge, it utilizes Private club members to host people for tee times, which is how you get on at private clubs. For the claims of discounts on items, I'm not entirely sure how decent the discounts would even be. Neat idea, but without them sharing information on users or courses available, it's a risk to pay for a membership.

After looking into it more, looks like a 15% discount to some major brands like Bridgestone, Bettinardi, Cobra, and TopGolf. However, this seems like a large affiliate marketing push rather than a true discount program worked out with each partner. I could be 100% wrong on the affiliate marketing, but nothing on the membership side seems like it's a guaranteed fit for anyone.
