IanCC
Use both. A PING Traverse 14 way divider cart bag and a PING Hoofer Lite 4 way divider. We walk 99% of the time here in the UK and we have a lot carry through the winter. I can’t fault either bag but the Traverse is so much easier to organise and find a club. I’m not for carrying it though. I also have to confess to using neoprene iron covers primarily to eliminate iron clatter. It does keep the irons from marking up and while I’m at it I clean my grooves after every shot as well. Total nerdfest. berkeleybob, GolfSpy_APH and Rob Person
fixyurdivot
Do you simply pile all your eating utensils into a drawer? If you answer yes, then the best golf bag design on the market probably isn't for you. I have a vintage tan round Titleist, what was back then probably the biggest, I think mine is leather. 4 of the 5 zippers still work. I love the old fashion. And, shh, don't tell anybody, I carry 15. No, I don't submit my scores of 105 to the SC USGA, but when I do, I will drop a club. I do like the bright multi-color bag from Ogio I think I saw, looks like a 1969 San Francisco tie die acid trip. Golf2Much
Since I'm required to ride in a cart at my home course and I keep my clubs at the course, I'm a fan of the 14/15 way bag. I'm currently sporting a 15 slot Ping Pioneer bag. Like many, I desire the "everything in its place" philosophy. I use the 15th slot for my Orange Whip which I use during my warmup routine. The bigger overall bag gives me more space to store items that I might need (wind shirt, extra balls, small flashlight for our early morning tee times, etc.) so I don't have to worry if I remembered them or not. All but three rounds of my 138 in 2023 were at my home course (the only 18 hole course within 135 miles). When I travel off "the rock" I find the Pioneer bag is a bit big to fit in my travel cover and effectively move through airports. So I have a small 25-year-old, 3-way Jones stand bag and a recent MGS Jones five way stand bag that I have exclusively for travel. Yes, the clubs do snag when going in and out, but since it's only a few times a year and the convenience easier traveling, it's worth it. Delaware Joe
Have been using 14 way Full Divider bags for almost 20 years and I absolutely love them. Love that they don’t clang around as much and are easy to pull out. A fairly new problem for me is that I have switched to Jumbo Max grips, the Zen Lite’s and the size of the grips makes it a little tighter, so I have to be sure to buy a bag that can handle them. A bag I used to love was the Ogio Silencer, and I see that they have just started producing them again. But I will have to bring a club with me to see if the JM grips will clip into the silencer part before I can go buy this bag again. mush830
I've been using a 14 way bag for sometime now. I like to keep things organized and this is great because I can just look in the bag and see if a club is missing from it's slot. My bag fits perfectly in my push cart and makes it easy to get clubs in and out. Rob Person

stephenmatt
I bounce back and forth between 14 way and 6 way bags. But what really surprised me is that at least for the 14 way bags I looked at the dividers were only 14 way at the top. Once you got past the holes the clubs were divided more like a five way bag. Sure does plus you can arrange your clubs in numerical order so it will be easier to locate and replace your club. Yes, they have the bags with individual dividers per club, but they also have the 14 way dividers on top but will be like a normal bag underneath. Make sure if you do buy one to make sure there are 14 separated slot that run the full length of the bag. hop this helps, have an awesome weekend Rob Person, Hacker60521 and dbdors 3 Quote Jeff "PUTSO" Pillar [email protected]
Rob Person
Having moved a large number of bags recently at the course, I have seen a variety of types. The most impressive is the ones with the rotating 14 way top. Full length dividers. There is a couple different brands. The one I like the least is the spiral configuration type. They are full length, but, the bottom of the bag seems to be stepped, allowing the clubs to separate in height as well. (Think I already posted a picture of the RAM bag that has this?) Removing them from vehicle trunks is awkward with the extra length added. buckpillar 1 Quote WITB-Foremost 551's - 3w, 5w, 5-SW (circa 1998), Top Flite 460cc Driver, Adam's 7w, Warrior GW and 60⁰, Odyssey AI-One DB putter. GaryF
I currently have a Taylormade 7 divider stand bag which I like but wife says I need a new bag. I promised my son in law my current bag when I get a new one, so that locks in that a new bag is in my future. I’m really torn on what my wants and needs are. First, I ride a cart almost all of the time. I like stand bags because I practice slot and….just like them. 14 dividers seem the way to go. 5 dividers seem ‘off’ and the 7 I have now is pretty good. When we have cpo, I often will carry my bag from mid fairway to the green. Shoulder straps (plural) are a necessity. Fir a stand bag to be useful in a cart, I Need to organize the putter and short clubs on the ball pocket side and driver/woods on the stand side. It needs to have shoulder straps (sun c-130 doesn’t). Kbek
I use the Sun Mountain C-130 bag. It has separate dividers and each partition has enough room for oversized grips. It does keep my clubs organized. The most important thing for me is I can easily and quickly identify if a club is missing. Also, from time to time I will sub a 5W or a hybrid or even a driving iron. The dividers identify if I accidentally left one too many clubs in the bag.
