Barley Spargewater
I know it is petty, but I hate it when people sit in their carts and fill out the score card while sitting by the green. DUDE! Dareldm3344
Folks not taking the time to rake a bunker after their bunker shot, then listening to the same folks complain of the bunker conditions. Not sure why folks don’t think raking a bunker is a required part of the game anymore. To me, not raking a bunker is absurdly selfish and is essentially saying that you don’t care about the rest of the folks on the course. JRDuck40
Mine HAS to be divot / ball marks on the green. At my Tuesday night league, the groups in front of us are notorious for not fixing / repairing their marks. It's gotten to the point that I'm spending more time fixing ball marks than reading the green for my putt. Midway through the season last year it was so bad that a few of us told the pro / starter... Of course nothing was done. I was joking around with a few guys saying that I should charge the course a nickel a repair and invoice them after my round. FIX YOUR DAMN MARKS PEOPLE!!! Jimsolo
Of course, slow play is everyone's pet peeve. I am not sure why players do not know to keep up to the group in front of them. Secondly, those players who do not rake a sand trap drive me nuts! Think of the other players that day that have to hit out of your footprints. Steve Sowa
STSGOLFER My peeves are: Our course charges $65 a round - unless you are a member - and doesn't bother to put sand in the traps. Easier to play off cart path. 20 minute stops at clubhouse between 9s. If you can't make it 4 hours between meals somethings wrong We have a golfer that can barely walk on the green but insists on walking 18 holes. Great that he's trying but bad for group behind him - usually us Groups that come banging down to the tee to stand behind you and talk while you tee off. I have more but thats enough for now. elight
Taking too long to look for a ball that's almost certainly lost. I totally get the ball rolling off the fairway a few feet into the rough and wanting to find it because you SHOULD find it. But when you hit it over the trees into the tall grass or onto the next hole, you really need to take one quick look and if you don't get lucky and find it right away, drop one and move on with your life. Trenton 365
Etiquette, Etiquette, Etiquette! That was drilled into me when Uncle Aaron introduced me to golf. Your appearancee, club rules, rules of the game, your responsibility to keep the club as good or better than you found it etc. I started by hitting balls in a field, then pitch in putt, then an executive course before a championship course. And even then it was clear that "pace of play" "fixing ball marks and divots" was something every player could improve upon. Rodney Crispen
I do not like it when the slow group ahead is slow because they take the cart one by one to each ball (bumble bee golf). The obvious solution is to go to ball that will be first to hit and other one either take cart out of way toward own ball or simply take clubs and walk so that nearly ready to hit when it is their turn. I am not bothered at all by noise but I am significantly distracted by movement in my peripheral vision. I tend to try to figure out what or why the movement is occurring instead of focusing on my stroke. It is especially disheartening when a playing partner wants so badly to see every one of my shots and is jockeying for the best view. jbern
I'm surprised this one hasn't been said (that I know of), but one of my top pet peeves is blatant cheating or wildly incorrect drops. While 90% of the time I play casually, I don't care if people don't follow any of golf's rules. You should have fun golfing! BUT if we're playing for money or even if you say you want to have a pride match, then that's a different story. More than a handful of times last season I had guys during money matches hit it in hazards or OB and then drop in the middle of the fairway in front of my drive that was well struck.
