Shrek74
Good morning, my name is Jason, and I'm a golf club-o-holic. So I just received my 4th putter (Maltby build) and I have about 9 wedges. Not to mention the 6-8 wedge shafts from taking other wedges apart over the past couple of years. I did just sell my 2nd set of golf clubs to go along with selling the 3rd set a couple months ago. I've sold 3 drivers over the past few months as well. I have a new 7 wood coming along with the UW I got earlier this year. Plus I still have 2 fittings and 2 demo days coming up in the next month. Ramsey_Steve
Clubs get blamed for whatever our personal weaknesses are. Great putters rarely change putters, etc etc. for me it’s my irons. I rarely change woods, hybrids or putter. It doesn’t help that every year we’re bombarded with propaganda insinuating that these new irons/whatever are so much better, will solve all my problems. you know how it goes, first I was told I wasn’t hitting my irons far enough. Yeah, I had a set of Ping G15's for 12 years before trading them in in 2020. That's when things went off the rails. Buying, selling, then buying more. It's become a bit of a mess at this point. Plus, living where I do now makes it that much worse. We have 5 courses inside this community, the cost is well below anywhere else to play a round, and I even get special rates for about 12 rounds when you buy the coupon sheets in November for the following year. Then add all the stuff I've learned about golf, fitting, clubs, etc the past 3-4 years, and it's a recipe for disaster, at least for my golf bag that is. Sparkee
Good day , my name is sparkee and I …. My story starts with getting a set of jazz irons and after a summer of not knowing where the ball is going . I found out at the driving range that in 4 of my irons the glue was letting go and the head was moving . From that point I became a tinkerer , yes a tinkerer . Experiments began getting more and more complex requiring specialized tools to get proper results . I am 67 now and the garage is full and I am slowing down .it is still hard not to scratch the itch . Oh what the hell it’s good fun ! hoppman
The one thing that has kept me from purchasing more clubs this year is back fusion surgery. I can't go hit any of the clubs I am interested in so that is holding me back. Even trying a putter made my back sore, but just in the last week things have started feeling better and I start PT today. I can't wait to hit some new drivers, maybe the PXG Black OPS stuff and a few others, my concern is my swing speed will be down since I haven't swung a club since January and that will skew any results. My Srixon ZX 5 MKii irons are safe and probably my putter, for now. I acknowledge I have a problem buying clubs, but I embrace it. I am really missing all the free club fittings and hitting clubs at PGA tour superstore that I usually partake in this time of year. Now, excuse me while I go shopping for my 17th putter. Lol!! That's the truth! A buddy of mine has a set of Maxfli Revolution (black dot) CB irons that I've always really liked. I've been searching for the past couple of years for some irons that felt similar and I ended up with a set of JPX 923 Tours. They're are pretty darn close in feel. I think those Maxfli irons came out in like 2002? Rob Person, IndyBonzo, TJ Hall and 1 other
Dead Solid Bogey
Not gonna lie… I have spent more on golf gear/clubs in this, my first year on MGS than the 10 years previous. IndyBonzo, TJ Hall, Cfhandyman and 4 others 5
