Played 18 last night with some reasonably heavy wind (15-20 mph?). Seemed most of the holes were into the wind head-on so it was a good test for the low spin qualities of the shaft, along with the high/low workability.

 

I have a pretty good feel for the shafts now and with maybe a couple more rounds will be able to give a final assessment. I will say that while I thought they looked good when I first got them, the looks have only gotten better with time, very photogenic

I have a C Taper in my 3 iron and a C Taper Lite in the 4 and 2 irons. If you are getting good height on you C Tapers than stick with them. I love the kick of the 3 iron and it is fine for a 3 iron. I loved the original C Taper long irons, but I am not looking for towering shots with that club. My problem with the C Tapers was the Mid and Short irons were too low for me. So like I said, this may not be the shaft for everybody but it did it for me.

Great review Rick! Now I'm interested in the C-Taper Lites, and I originally wasn't because of the lighter weight. Maybe I'll get an updated shaft fitting, even though I really probably don't need one.

I take it when you did the install, you didn't tip weight them at all to keep the swing weight consistent?

 

You get crazy low spin with your irons be it the DG's or the C Tapers. You're PW is lower then my 6 iron currently

No, no tip weights installed. Didn't even think of that but I will definitely need to consider doing it down the road. I thought my iron spin seemed low, not sure why that is. I probably need to go to a fitter to get a proper launch monitor session and maybe some lessons.

Since others have told you they liked your introduction and they brought it up, I will take the other side. I hated the introduction. I do not condone the use of drugs and your glorification of it sort of pissed me off just a bit. But to each his own. It is tough when you are told to be funny and some people, me in this instance, take it the wrong way.

Direct your annoyance at me. MS asked me if it was Ok and I enjoyed the play on words, so I emphatically approved. He had another writeup that was much tamer, but imo diversity in the reviews and letting people be themselves when writing them is a good thing.

I am not near as annoyed now as earlier when I first read it. However, since Tuna and you and maybe some others said they loved it, I thought I would tell that I did not. I hold no animosity towards anyone, however, if I were KBS I would like it even less. But they may think it hilarious as you did, I on the other hand did not. I am sure I have said stuff people did not think funny.

I guess being around the Austin area and in a college town I never really see marijuana as a controversial topic. I wasn't trying to upset anyone, but I personally think the play on words is pretty harmless. Not exactly a taboo subject for adults in this day.

It is certainly not a taboo subject, and I would be surprised if more people agreed with me on this than you. I am sure that I am more of the problem on this subject than you. I hear "Fine Upstanding Members of the Community" talking and joking about it all the time. Just not one of the things that I find humorous. Upset? Probably the wrong word. On the scale of 1 to 10 this probably was a 2 at most.

Nice review catman, I especially like the TxState headcover! I will agree that the shafts look much better with the dark finish, if you get those pro combos done it will look awesome. Glad to hear you liked the shafts as much as I did.

Thanks, yea I really did like the way these played. I'm probably gonna set aside the funds this next month and send the PCs out to BOS (I've been reading that ChopShop has been having communication/location issues recently) for refinishing. I think these will be one heck of a shaft offering for people to try out.

Haha almost done with the first week of kids. Might be able to do the 14th since I don't have my Saturday class that date.

 

I tried the patented "Hula Draw" and blocked one into the next county! I think you have a secret right to left wind you carry just for that shot.

The 14th sounds good, We can play at my club if all else fails, Hear the Bandit is in good shape....

 

FYI. I'd rather have a HIGH CUT in the bag......
