It's Time to Vapor - New Nike Sticks Ready for 2015

Recommended Posts

Only got to play this set a couple of times this fall, then the snow started flying. Great set of sticks, really looking forward to playing them more in 2015. Go ahead, let me hear it on the color of the swoosh.

Had an opportunity of a lifetime to get down to Ft. Worth and go to the Oven last fall. The experience was enlightening from a fitting prospective. Really impressed with the products. I have been a TM guy for a long time, and still have my SLDR in case anything goes sideways. If you have stayed away from Nike in the past, you might want to re-think that going forward. Great sticks.

The RIP Gamma shaft is really good, I would recommend it if you are looking for an upgrade at a cheap cost, you can find them on eBay still.

Wedges are boring, but probably the biggest improvment area, Played the TM ATV wedges last year, liked them but really had a hard time out of the bunkers when opened up the face. A lot better distance control with the Vokey on all shots.

We must have been at the Oven at the same time - I wound up with the same setup, but with a Tour Green shaft in the driver.  Absolutely love that thing, as well as the Pro Combo irons.  Nike has a serious thing going on this year...

I like that all white bag. I'm afraid after a round with me it would be sufficiently not-white. For photo purposes it is very sharp.

Just curious what made you go with the Vapor Pro over the Flex?  I'm seriously looking at going with a Nike bag this year (at least Irons and driver) and I haven't gotten to hit either as the demo/fitting cart still hasn't come in due to some QC issues according to the local stores.

In The Bag
Driver: TaylorMade M2 (2017) w/ Project X T1100 HZRDUS Handcrafted 65x
Strong 3 wood: Taylormade M1 15* w/ ProjectX T1100 HZRDUS handcrafted 75x
3 Hybrid: Adams PRO 18* w/ KBS Tour Hybrid S flex tipped 1/2"
4 Hybrid: Adams PRO 20* (bent to 21*) w/ KBS Tour Hybrid S flex tipped 1/2"
4-AW: TaylorMade P770 w/ Dynamic Gold Tour Issue Black Onyx S400

SW: 56* Scratch Tour Dept(CC grooves) w/ Dynamic Gold Spinner
LW: 60* Scratch Tour Department (CC grooves) w/ Dynamic Gold Spinner
XW: 64* Cally XForged Vintage w/ DG X100 8 iron tiger stepped
Putter: Nike Method Prototype 006 at 34"

Have a ton of back-ups in all categories, but there are always 14 clubs in the bag that differ depending on the course and set-up. Bomb and gouge. Yes, I'm a club gigolo.

I was at the same session as StraightIsLong - chose the Pro over the Flex due to forgiveness -- it's a 460 head vs. a 420 head.  Hit them both well, but I'm an all over the face kinda guy.  Don't think Straight has the same problem, tho....

Not according to the Nike Rep that was in the store that I talked to personally when I asked if they had them and was told "there's the Nike rep, ask him".  He said QC was the reason that the fitting carts are slow to come out.  I'm taking the Nike rep at his word, especially considering it's the same nike rep that's sold them head only clubs to me a few times.

A Nike Rep that told a Consumer that there was QC problems with his products? and  that also sells Head only clubs ?  He's been with Nike for a long time....

Same rep that they got me a VR Pro and VR Pro LE through head only.  He's been with them a while.

Sexy.

Actually, there might be a different word to use, I just am not sure it's appropriate! The putter headcover might be my favorite part!

I hit it higher is the main reason. Did not see much difference in look between the two but did find it easier to hit a bit higher and seemed a bit more forgiving.

Kind of you. For me it got to the point where I wanted the fitter to take over. Visually I had a preference for the Pro / Flex Models and from there he just took over and did some amazing work in terms of the set up. Not what I would of expected to be in for a shaft, but now that I have had time to play it on the course and in practice the driver goes so straight, its amazing.

Very cool setup!

It's taking every ounce of my will power to not go full Nike this year! I'll admit, I've owned but never gamed Nike clubs for longer than one round. The extent of my Nike golf equipment right now other than clothes consists of a pair of Bandons... But I want the Irons And driver real bad! Look good, feel good, play good right?
