    How'd you play?

79 8/14 fir 9/18 gir 32 putts I. Finally. Did. It! I tried my hardest to choke and shoot an 80 but managed to chip in on 18 for birdie. After shooting even on the front I was pretty stoked. Double on 12 and a triple at 15 I basically was throwing it away. Squeezed it out and it feels great. Sent from my Pixel 3 using MyGolfSpy mobile app

    How'd you play?

    - 43/41 = 84 (+12) - 7/15 FIR - 7/18 GIR (1 birdie) - 34 Putts (2 3-putts, 12 2-putts, 4 1-putts) Oh, the round this could have been. Struck the ball out of my mind tonight, unfortunately the score doesn't reflect it. This could have been my all-time low (82, currently) and might have even been sub-80 with just a few yards here or there. I am so unbelievably happy with my ball-striking today, and I really hope I've turned a corner with my game. I was cruising along through 12 holes with no one in front of me. Unfortunately, I got stuck behind a threesome and a foursome of two adults and two young kids. After playing the first 12 holes in under two hours, it took another 1 hour and 20 minutes or so to play the final six holes. I played 18 holes in the time it took the foursome to play nine, as they were teeing off 10 when I was walking to the first hole. Sorry for the sidetrack - moral is that I couldn't mentally stay in it while the sun was setting both literally and figuratively on my round. Hit poor drives on the last three holes and three-putted 18 from 15 feet after hitting the green in regulation. Boo. Can't wait to get back out there on Monday and keep grinding!

    How'd you play?

Well, ummm, not so great cudda been better but cudda been worse... Past few practice sessions felt a little awkward so didn't bring a lot of confidence to the course, so... Not a good ball striking day .. which is disappointing as I'd been making some good progress on my swing and my game recently. Was pulling tee shots left or pushing them right .. chunking the irons .. etc etc (you guys know what I'm talking about!). Yet managed to scratch out more bogeys than "Others" .. two Triples and one Double (so I got that going for me). Had a few chances at par putts but kept grazing the right edge of the hole. Yeah it was really hot, and yeah it was really unbearably slooooow starting by the third hole .. took close to 3 hours for 9 .. but those are not good excuses for not maintaining focus while executing each shot.... More work to do!

  5. The Ryder Cup captain at my course called me yesterday morning wanting me to fill in. We play 3 other clubs throughout the year, and yesterday was one of those days. It felt pretty good to be asked to play, then it felt bad when I told him I couldn’t play due to a wedding I had already committed to going. I give all the credit to the Cobra F9s improving my game enough to be considered for that. We’re talking 12 people out of the whole club, I guess I’m just wanting to brag a little. It is nice other members are noticing the improvement in my game. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

  7. I DID IT! First round with the new HZRDUS Yellow (thanks, Callaway Pre-Owned!), and I smashed my personal best drive twice! On the opening hole I nearly drove the green, smashing it 280 yards (landed exactly where I wanted it to and got a great bounce. Hole No. 3 is a long par 5, and I let her rip! Couldn't believe how far I had to walk to get to my ball! View from my where my drive ended up on the first hole:

  10. Most of my rounds have been ordinary recently but I did have this bomb on Thursday night. I knew it was a good drive but all I could think of when I saw it was over 300 is that I need to make birdie so I can post it in the #CobraConnectChallenge 3 thread. Of course I then two putted for par.

Any time I get to play a round with my son, it's a happy. When he says "boy that was a lot of fun!! When are we going again?" it's an ecstatic. Wasn't too thrilled at the start when we got to the first tee and were told by the foursome in front of us that the group teeing off had a tee time 20 minutes after ours, and they had the tee time 10 minutes after us but "wouldn't hold us up too much". Um... huh? A big part of me wanted to push the issue but I decided the weather was too nice and I was there to have fun with my son so I let it go and let them tee off in front of us. Oh and we were on their butts all day long

  12. Well I did it. I ordered 9 and PW in the Blueprints. I was going to do 8-PW but the lofts are too different going up - I can get the 9 and PW the same as the i500 but it doesn't take long before they are far apart. Man I sure hope I don't love them so much I'm getting new irons... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    How'd you play?

After your 80 the other day, I was going to ask for strokes in September. Now I guess we are even again. My wife and I played with the service manager at my local Dodge dealer and his brother. I've been playing golf with him for 12 years, long before I bought my Charger R/T. I seem to have woken up with a new pain in my left arm... No, No, I'm not having a heart attack!! At my age it seems like I'm always getting new pains. Today it affected my swing a little bit. I must have gotten used to it by the back nine though. I shot +6 on the front nine with 2 doubles, but shot +2 on the back nine for an 80. My highlight was on #15, a par 3 playing about 180y. I hit my 6i to a foot for birdie. That par 3 plays anywhere from 150 to 190 and usually into the prevailing wind. No wind today. I always hit my 6i on this hole; I don't care where the pin is located. I've been short of the green, behind the green, left of the green, but never right of the green... huge bunker! It seems like I am always in that bunker if I hit anything else. It's mental, I know!!

47/42 for an 89 on a par 71 course 4/13 fairways 5/18 greens 37 putts 3 pars 3 doubles 12 bogeys I tied a personal best score today after going out yesterday and wetting the bed. My chipping way on fire today and that saved my bacon on a few holes. I actually hit the flag twice and had the ball ricochet off of it, so it could have been better. I'm happy with the result, though. Sent from my SM-G955U using MyGolfSpy mobile app

  19. First game in 3 weeks today- no practice and straight on the tee for a trophy matchplay first round. played ok with the long game and chipping ok too. putting let me down, way short on long putts, missed the 2nd putt to lose 3 holes in a row with 3 x 3 putts- lost 2 and 1 after more 3 putt bogies on 16 and 17. Spent 1hr after the match on long game and 1.5hrs on putting - I now have yet another putting style which feels more natural so we'll see how it goes with 3 comps lined up this week (1 medal, 1 open comp and 1 third round of singles matchplay)

We played with another couple that we play with a lot... good friends. Great weather! A little cool at 7am... 72º I normally don't play before 9am. Lots of water on the grass from irrigating all night, so no roll for the first hour. This was probably my best round of the year; not my best score of the year, but close. Score: 76 (+2 on each nine) no doubles; no birdies Fairways: 92% missed the par 4 #16 by a foot GIR: 44% Putts: 30 Sandy par on the par 3 #12 hole.

  27. I haven't touched it out on the course since it arrived. I played with the neck/perimeter weight a little bit for my stage 2, but otherwise it's completely standard with the weight in the toe. I've dabbled with the idea of putting an Accra TZ6 in it, but it's hard to imagine that it'll get much better for me personally: I got 99 problems Flash ain't one

  29. I'm keeping my early vote for Pavlord in place. 1. As a player with a similar handicap, recovering for birdie on a challenging hole like that is a triumph. 2. Approach shot to 2' from 170 into an island green with bunkers = Hat Tipper every day 3. Lived up to the GIF presentation with flying colors Well done Pav, and hey, we've all ruined our birdies on the next hole.

  38. Today was the first time I had a bit of an issue with the NX9 locking on properly. We were on a par 4 and my son wanted to shoot his distance (he gets a kick out of using it) and he told me he had 98 yards to the flag. I told him that was way too far and to do it again. He kept saying 98 so I took over and I also shot a 98. In reality the flag was 63 yards away and the trees behind the green weren't too thick. But even with what seemed like the bulls eye right on the flag, the NX9 kept picking up the trees. Same with the flagstick itself. Every other time I used it today, it was dead on. I also had to keep switching slope mode back on because my 13yo was constantly hitting the function button by accident. It would be nice to see it take a bit longer to switch modes so if you accidentally hit the mode button by mistake, it doesn't switch out of slope right away.

  42. I wanted to update a few things I realize I left out of the stage 1 ( I will edit it to reflect this as well): Typical Driver SS: 100-105 Iron/shaft specs: KBS Stiff shafts 1* upright +.25" Some initial thoughts after showing these to people at my club, including the pro: The first thing my club pro mentioned was "wow these are the most upright irons I've ever seen!" I need to get the lie checked out, to see how close they are to the 1* upright I ordered. Most people I show them to really like how they look! Like really like them a LOT. I'm getting more compliments on clubs than I ever have before. Which is weird to me because: Other than the black finish, and the nice shape - I think these clubs look cheap and pretty ugly. I am not a fan of the bedazzled silver inlay, and the lime green "eye" looking thing. (I don't care if I think a club is ugly, if I play well with them, I'm just fine with anything!). I shot my best two rounds with these last week, an 81 followed by an 80 - so there may be something to these things!

To be honest, I usually say something too. But I thought about it for a second or two and said "nah it's not worth starting the round out like that". It was the right choice based on how the afternoon went. By my count, the guy who commented about not holding us up must've lost at least 4 balls over the first 9 holes, two of them in the same water hazard, and seemed to be in the woods all afternoon, so y'know... karma LOL

  46. I hit Heavenwood on a 225 yard par 3 that maybe got 3 feet off the ground, max. The hole is slightly downhill so I figured it would end up OK. After my son's second shot I told him I needed to figure out where my ball was. He looked at me like I was an idiot and pointed it out on the green about 7-8' past the pin. Left the birdie putt just inches short.

    How'd you play?

Walked 9 with my son, I shot +9 so bogey golf. One birdie, one par. The birdie came on a 30 foot downhill putt that I barely tapped and just curled in. The par came immediately after, when I hit my Heavenwood from 225 and ended up about 7 feet past the hole. I left the birdie putt just short. Only one penalty today on a nasty driver pull. I was in greenside bunkers twice and both times made it out safely. That's just huge for me.

I played OK. Shot an 86 with 30 putts. 43% FIR but GIR was poor. Hit a great drive on 15, 278 yards straight down the middle, screwed up the 9 iron hitting into the bunker but got it out and 1 putted for par. The new driver set up plus gripping down an inch had me hitting off the tee really well on the back 9. Looking forward to next week!
