Will not happen here either. Maybe on a nice flat course, but there aren't any here. Did you see that two of them took up the same amount of space as a power cart when parked? The people that would likely use these are the guys that don't need to ride! “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

Kenny B
$6500!?!!! And Tetherow has 13 of them! How do you justify the same price as a regular golf cart for one of these? I wonder if I can talk my wife into using these when we go there next April? Kevin Unterreiner
I'm 44 and love to walk. When I play with buddies and drink I like to ride. I tried one of these, though, and absolutely loved it. I will ride this as often as I can when I play and now only go to courses that have them. Agree it's not for everyone. It does take some balance and is a decent workout. I've never enjoyed a round, more though, than when I rode this. Here's why: 1) Sped up the round. Was able to go right to my ball. I've played 18 holes twilight in 90 minutes...all for a $12 twilight fee! I've heard courses in California are sending out 6-somes who are finishing in under 4 hours. 2) Floating down the undulations of the fairways is just awesome. Makes me appreciate the course more. 3) I can play 36 or 45 holes in a day on this. LOVE that. Can't walk that many any more and riding in a cart zig zagging back and forth spending half your time waiting on someone else to hit is annoying now that I've ridden on this. Advice: Don't use if you've been drinking. Don't use if you aren't comfortable with balance sports (biking, skating, skiing). Don't use if you're over 250 lbs (that's the limit). DO use if you want to play faster, experience the course in a whole new way, and get some good exercise. For those who hate on it without ever experiencing it: Don't knock it til you try it. This product will drive more revenue to courses which will ultimately determine their acceptance - they are so popular at courses that have them now they are having to pre-book...so the consumer demand is there. Just watch, in 2-3 years you will see these EVERYWHERE except super hilly courses. I even see seniors using these at courses I've played in Florida and Arizona. And who knows, maybe this will even attract the younger generation.
fozcycle
We had four of the Golfboards at our club for four months. Even though they did generate some add'l revenue (upcharge above cart fee was $10 per round) they by no means provided enough revenue to cover the costs......$6,500 each. To cover the liability issue, you had to watch a 5 minute video and electronically sign a waiver. I know because I did it. After qualifying, I took one out for a "test drive". I found it very hard to negotiate tight turns. However, on the open course they were pretty easy to handle. But at age 64, I would much rather drive a two seater cart. revkev
I've been meaning to weigh in on this one and each time I start something or someone disrupts me. It's a cool toy but I don't believe that it will be a huge hit and here's why - the strength of the golf cart is that it is ideal for socializing. If I'm walking I can certainly talk with my playing partners but in a cart I can talk, have a drink, smoke a cigar, it's like being on a college road trip. I believe that's why carts quickly became popular and have remained so for some time. Hula Rock
These are VERY popular in San Antonio. The city owned golf courses, Alamo Golf trail, trialed a fleet of these things and from what I heard they will be offered on all 7 courses. There is no upcharge, as a matter of fact its cheaper to rent instead of a cart at $10.00. The caveat, you have to take a short 10 min class on how to use it.
