Got Problems?

I won some money at a course 3 hours away 2 weeks ago. I didn't have time to spend it that day so I was in that area last week.

 

I decided to call ahead and see if they had what I wanted. I am looking for a new Cleveland RTX-3 50* wedge. They said yeah we have 2 in stock.

 

So I go to the shop the next day and they do not carry Cleveland wedges. Not a one but try to put me in a Vokey.

 

I ask if they can order the Cleveland wedge I want and they said sure. Just email us the specs. Ok. I can understand that.

 

So that evening I send an email. This was Tuesday. I've called and every time the guy I emailed is out or off. 3 voicemails and no answer.

 

All I want to know is if my club was ordered. Not asking much. Very frustrating

Definitely a customer service problem. They're not in a big rush to do something for you and in all likelihood you will not be back.

I guess the plus side is I've got a clean garage now. Last time I cleaned it, I had a broken beer bottle all over the floor.

Seasonal rant!

 

It's Christmas at Walmart!!! WTH?

Our walmart had a Christmas section set up October 1st! Crazy - like I'm going to buy more because they set up early. At this rate they'll be setting Christmas displays in July. What's even worse they started playing Christmas music - geez they use to wait until at least Halloween.

When I was a kid (late 40's & 50's) Christmas season started around Thanksgiving. Then when my kids were growing up Christmas started Halloween now it seems After Labor Day the Christmas displays start appearing.

That sucks. I always, always, always turn in golf clubs no matter how tempting it is to keep it. It's the way I was taught and it's the way I teach it to my kids. By the way, it's not just golf clubs I am referring to.

Yep. Sam here. Its just hard to believe, people will just decide it's a funders keepers thing.

 

Heck I rarely even pick up stray golf balls on the course. I say rarely. As if I'm deep in the trees and I may pick up one to use on the next shot as opposed to going back to the cart to get another one.

Yeah that's a bummer. Over the past 6 years (at our club) I've lost 2 nikon rangefinders both had our names on them. I can't imagine one of our members keeping them. But the landscape crew on the other hand - I should have checked craigslist right after I lost them.

 

My latest one has a 2' long orange strap - so more easily spotted when I miss it.

Sucks, unfortunately that does happen. Whenever we find something (beside a ball in the woods) we turn it in. I would be too guilty to keep anyone else's equipment. I believe the guys I play with feel the same.

I hear you on this.  Not as bad as surgery, but I haven't picked up a club since Mid-August and the only tourney on the books for me got rained out!  Mind you it hadn't rained since Early August...not a drop.  The day of our tourney...it pours...the days and weeks after...dry as a bone.  Rescheduled for next Monday so we'll see if old mother nature decides to throw water on it again...literally...

I rarely find a lefty club on the course so that makes it easy for me , and I agree - I couldn't in good conscious, keep or dream of using someone else's lost club.

Thanks guys, but the rant continues...

 

Arrived at the surgery center (not hospital) at 12:30pm.  Got the IV in my left hand, then waited in the prep room until 2pm.  Anesthesiologist comes in and listens to my heart; says he hears "an irregular heartbeat".  They hook up an EKG; took 15 minutes because I think they had to blow the dust off it and untangle the cords.  He says "See there it is."  No surgery.  They took out the IV and sent me to the hospital ER; because I walked in and had no heart issue symptoms, the let me walk out instead of calling an ambulance.  

 

We drove to the ER.  Got in the room; a trainee tried to put an IV in my right hand and blew a vein; after she covered it and cleaned the blood off the floor, the nurse put the IV in my right wrist.  They hooked up an EKG; the ER doctor took a look at it along with the copy of the EKG from the surgery center AND the EKG from the hospital that I had done last week that was OK.  They are all the same.  The ER doctor said the anesthesiologist should stick to knocking people out and not read EKG charts.  There is nothing wrong.  They took blood and those tests were negative.  Left the hospital last night; missed MNF, and now I have to see if the surgery can be rescheduled.

 

I hate being old.  The only good news is that the weather is really nice, and I can play golf today!

Unbelievable. Truly unbelievable. Sorry you had such poor treatment at what's sounding like a poor quality hospital... :-(

I have an upcoming surgery in a week and a half .. they have me going for a pre-surgical exam at the hospital on Thursday and then to my regular doctor on Monday for a pre-surgical clearance, and a new X-Ray.

 

And I'll remember not to let any anesthesiologist look at any EKGs!
