Rickp
Played at Connecticut National Golf Club in Putnam CT - just over the border from MA and RI in the top NE corner of the state. Great track! A lot of fun and in good shape. One of the most fun holes I've played in a while was a Par 4 that goes about 200 feet downhill (3rd pic); the green has a pond on the right that's hidden from view. You can either play it safe and make it an easy 2 shot par or fire away and leave yourself a chance at birdie. I didn't hit the green but was on the fringe. Hit a nice chip and made the putt for birdie. Layups are for basketball!! The day started a bit overcast but the blue sky came out later on. Fabulous spring weather! Since I was alone and there was nobody behind me I hit 4 balls off the tee. 3 of them ended up about the same distance about 10 yards apart and the one I was really trying to get there was pulled left into the trees. I'm in AZ now (Boo).. and munis here are what they are in the rest of the world Pacific Grove is what you would drive through to get to the entrance of Pebble Beach so there's a level of golf heritage that they work to maintain. It was designed by the same guy that re-designed Pebble many years ago.
