PMookie
We get mosquitoes pretty bad down here in Louisiana during the summer, so we always carry a bottle of repellent. Currently, we are dealing with a lot of gnats which are not repelled by the same type of bug spray. What repellent do you go to for on-course use both for mosquitoes, and for other bugs like gnats, etc??? List your best mosquito repellent alone, if you’d like. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro Don't know about gnats, but it absolutely repels mosquitoes, horseflies, deer flies, and no-see-ums (awful in AK). They do make an "organic" (non-DEET) version but I have never tried it. If I ever do, the real stuff will be in the float bag. So aggravating. Until this year I played the bulk of my golf at a base course with a lesser budget for insecticides, so this was definitely an issue I had to address. Very hard to hole a 6-footer when a gnat flies into your nose. Give it a try and let me know, but I'm very confident it will do the trick. You may find yourself reapplying by the 12th or 13th hole, but it works. And you can put it on the back of your neck, but you're going to get that Icy Hot-like tingle if you put it on your skin. christina42
I just got back from a golf trip, the gnats were pretty bad for a few days. I had some other spray that I used but it did not do as well as this Bug Soother Spray that I purchased from here. I threw the other away and used it, other golfers borrowed it from me and asked me where I got it.. this is a much cleaner, safer choice for my suburban life. We've even used it out hiking national parks and have found it to be very effective. Quote Golf is like a love affair!

GolfSpy MPR
After this morning's round, figured this thread needed a bump. Our course is heavily wooded, and Kirke and I ejected after six holes because the mosquitoes were so bad. I might have malaria. Worse, I three-putted the second hole after hitting the GIR because I rushed the first putt while being sucked dry of all my vital fluids. Girldad18
I use the Deep Woods Off and do not have a problem. Of course if you use a fragrant deodorant or cologne or something like that and go play, it attracts the bugs. Teammates used to struggle with bugs because they would use axe body spray or something similar and then it would linger on their clothes when they played. Bugs loved them.
