Reshafting MG Wedges... Plug?

If I heat the hosel of an MG wedge with a heat gun, should I be concerned about damaging the red plug?

The head design isn't a full bore thru so provided you apply directional heat the hosel only, you should be fine. You could hold a damp cloth on the bottom of the sole  while you're heating it up just to be on the safe side.
