fixyurdivot
Head back west boys... head west. From the land of thorns, fangs, and stingers, the field heads back to CA and Riviera CC. Last years Genesis Invitational was crazily over shadowed by one of sports biggest holy $hat news happenings and scare of the year. But, but, Tiger is back and will be there as tournament host - though I'm on record as hoping he has a designated driver for the weekend . Max Homa returns to defend his title against a very strong field. Did you know that this used to be hosted by Jack and Arnie before the baton was passed to Tiger in 2016? Did you know that the events charity focus is STEM... music to my ears. Did you know that Riviera CC was the site of Tigers first PGA start (1992, at 16 years old!)... strike three on all of these... yea, me too . Okay, one more... did you know that El Tigre has never won this event? Yup, it's true, crazy as that seems. Looking forward to this one. Don't forget to pick your winner for this weeks pool https://runmypools.com/JRMPNWWF. His biggest hurdle may simply be not being able to walk 72 holes... which he mentioned is generally 90+ with practice rounds. The Champions Tour allows carts - so I have no doubt he'll play there if the walking on the main tour keeps him from playing. With the injury he sustained building up enough stamina to do that will not be easy. IMO walking in general was going to be a huge hurdle with the injury he sustained let alone returning to any sort of golfing capacity. The outlier which hasn’t been discussed is how his back held up after the accident, trauma of the accident and using crutches plus likely walking with a limp had to take a toll Quote Stealth 2 Plus 9deg Kai' li Red Stealth 2 13deg Aldilla Rogue Silver Stealth 2 15deg Aldilla Rogue Silver JPX 921 Hot Metal 4-PW Nippon Modus 120s SM8 54 and 58deg Dynamic Gold Wedge Flex Scotty Cameron Newport 2 Titleist ProV1 Hoofer Stand Bag Stewart Q Follow Electric Caddie 300 PRO Rangefinder Official Nippon Regio B+ Driver Shaft Review Official Stewart Q Follow Review

fixyurdivot
I see Wyndham Clark DQ'd in round 1 for signing an incorrect scorecard. If the player isn't aware that he breached a rule, he's not DQed for omitting that penalty from his score. This is in the Exception to Rule 3.3b(2), the appropriate penalty strokes are simply added to his score to make it correct. Typically, the caddie and/or player will record his own scores on a separate "tear strip", and compare them to the Marker's scoring before the card is signed and submitted. I can't find any description of his mistake, other than that he shot 77 in the first round, which pretty much guaranteed that he'd miss the cut. Maybe it was purposeful, he prefers a DQ to a WD. After his shot on 15 caromed off the flagstick into the water, he took Penalty Relief in a Wrong Place without realizing it was a wrong place. They made an exception to avoid the DQ which could (should?) have applied under the rules at the time, since his reported score for the hole was lower than the correct score including the Wrong Place penalty. fixyurdivot and tony@CIC 2 Quote Irons Titleist T200, AMT Red stiff Rogue SubZero, GD YS-Six X T22 54 and 58 wedges 7-wood 5-wood B60 G5i putter Right handed Reston, Virginia
