Popular Post Dan1993
Good Morning Spies, and Happy Tuesday! Oldest has an Ear Infection (almost 3yo) so its been a fun weekend for sure! Thankfully I was able to sneak away for a club fitting at my local Club Champion! Session went great and my fitter was understanding of my desire to stick with OEM/Non-upcharge shaft choices. We made some good choices I think, and talked about proper gapping in the club range. We decided to ditch the fairway wood since it doesn't get much use, and I really don't hit it well. But I'm super happy with how everything settled out. Still saving up funds to build the bag in the offseason, but a word of warning to those looking to buy clubs! I chatted with Srixon because some of their club sets were incomplete, the ZX MKII line is coming to an end, and the new irons planned release is spring of 2025. fixyurdivot, Northern Monkey, Byrnzee and 14 others 16 1 Quote What's In The Bag: Bag: 2019 Fusion 14 Stand Bag Push Cart Mafia: 3-Wheel Golf Cart Driver: AI Smoke Max D 10.5* w/ Project X Denali Blue 60 Hybrid: AI Smoke 4H(21*) w/ Project X Cypher 2.0 70HYB Irons: 5-PW ZX5 MKII w/ KBS Tour Lite Wedges: CBX 4 Zipcore 50*, RTX 6 Zipcore 54*/58* Putter: DF3, Green 65*/35 Balls: Tour X Grips: Golf Pride MCC +4 Midsize Tech: Garmin Approach S70

Popular Post BIG STU
2 hours ago, Jim Shaw said: only 10 or 11? you are rocking it buddy... Well It is not because I am trying to be Billy Bad Boy or something. It boiled down to keeping things simple for me. I found out in a tournament several months ago a the 7 wood was the only FW I needed. I had to do a layup on a Par5. Now I left myself a little far back and said go for it. I pulled the 3 wood and nutted it right trying to hit it too hard into a lake to the right of the green Ended up taking a 8 on the hole and foiled my comeback from the dead by 2 shots. The next week faced with the same situation I pulled the 7 wood and got it in front of the green got it up and down for a Par. I do not have enough SS to effectively hit a 3 wood anymore. My 5 wood I only hit maybe 10 to 15 yards further, I have carried that old 7 wood since it was new some 20 years now. I only carry 3 wedges and the 58* is only used out of our crappy traps and maybe an occasional flop shot. As in the old days for me the 56* is my workhorse wedge. I also utilize a lot of bump and runs around the greens with the 5 and 7 irons. I had found out some time ago when I played my vintage 7 club rounds I did pretty decent with just 7 clubs there. Most of the clubs in my bag I can hit 3 or 4 different shots with. I do not recommend my way for anyone but it keeps the decision making down for my pea sized brain Byrnzee, cksurfdude, ejgaudette and 11 others 13 1 Quote Driver ---- Callaway Big Bertha Alpha Speeder 565 R flex- - 7W TM V-Steel UST Pro Force Gold 65R---- Irons 5 thru PW 1980 Macgregor VIP Hogan Apex steel shafts--- SW -- Cleveland 588 56* S-400 Sensicore --- LW Vokey 58* SM5 L grind--- Putter 1997 Scotty Cameron Santa Fe Fluted Bulls Eye shaft--- Bag TM Flex Lite Stand---- Yeah I know only 11 clubs G

I know several guys (not young big hitters either) that had face separation issues with the Sim drivers. TM did warranty them and replaced with the new QI series heads. I am not a big hitter either and had an issue with a M-6. Now my friend had bought it new and I had traded him out of it. I explained it to TM and they did a warranty on it. Popular Post BIG STU
Did not play today as I had planned. Did fix country sausage links and grits for the wife and me. Went to the shop and gathered up a set of 58 Macgregor Diamond Back Irons I am doing a trade deal on tomorrow. Now a bud of mine and playing partner gave me some food for thought on putting. Because of our greens being bare in spots and plain out gnarly in others he went back to pop stroke putting. I remembered back growing up I putted that way. I had to learn to flow stroke it so to speak when I started playing bent grass greens. Went out to the stash in the shop and found one of my old Bulls Eyes. What better putter to pop stroke it with. Went out and practiced with it this morning and it worked better. Since I carry only 11 clubs as normal it will be in the bag along with the Scotty. It got hot and our putting green is in the wide open and I went home because it was getting hot. I did not try to wrist pop the Scotty. I will try it in the morning before the round. I do not really want to get into the habit because Friday we are playing a neighboring course with good greens they tell me. For us the course is closed Friday because they have a Ladies Invitational with Ladies from everywhere. No big surprise because they have it every year about this time. Popular Post EasyPutter
Good morning MGSpies on a half no-commute workday for me and the cool of the night here in WNY went all the way down to 75F after yesterday's 90 with high humidity. I'm always reminded that the air conditioning, that I had to wear winter layers for while at work in the office and changed out of leaving the building, was invented right here in Buffalo by the Carrier Corp no doubt inspired by the industrial and architectural advances of the day and the abundance of electricity from nearby Niagara Falls. The other half of the day is golf. It was another good HOPE session again yesterday evening in Rush NY with the entire time on the range assisting the pros guiding our Veterans to hitting lofted clubs of all kinds and the drives really were amazing "not swinging hard but swinging controlled" as I could attest to being effective from my Monday round. Popular Post ejgaudette
Good morning all! Nice round @Northern Monkey and glad you got to make it out. So they tried to push be back another month until I pushed and made them call the delivery office and get and earlier date as at first they said they would only send an email which the last 3 times they did that it was roundly ignored. Though we need a new dishwasher as well so looking into deals from a place like Lowes and see how much LG needs to refund to make it worth my while to stick with that order and not cancel it. Popular Post IndyBonzo
Good morning Spies. Congrats on the PB @Northern Monkey. Hope your cat is ok @sirchunksalot. We don’t know nearly enough yet for me to really talk about this. But we got some very troubling health news on FABWIFE pretty much out of the blue yesterday. No diagnoses yet. And it could very well be nothing at all. We are both shocked, scared, realistic about not overreacting, and figuring out what to do next. Very fortunately, we have family in health care with relevant expertise who are guiding us to specialists to get this figured out. So now, we get up, go to work, wait, act normal, and tackle this too. Surreal. Thanks for “listening” friends. If you have a quiet moment to do so today, please send a prayer her way. And don’t let me bring you down. Embrace your day! May it be a good one. To be able to hit out of a greenside bunker and have a range ball check up on the green was quite the site to see. Hit them strait Guys! jbern, IndyBonzo, ejgaudette and 22 others 24 1 Quote Mixed bag of goodies: Taylormade M2 driver, Titleist F15 3 wood, Nike 5 wood, Mizuno 923 Hmp irons, Cleveland zipcore wedges and Odyssey 3 ball putter. Popular Post Bogey Train Conductor
Morning folks! Gonna be a scorcher today so even if I was off from work I probably wouldn’t play. I love golf but I also don’t wanna melt! League tomorrow night but not sure if I’ll be able to play because I’m on kid-pickup-duty.
