After a successful pizza making night with the entire family, today is smoking a couple racks of ribs and trying something new on the pit.  I'm going to attempt to make the beans on the smoker as well.  

Golf planned for this afternoon and looking forward to seeing how the driver performs.

Good morning Spies on this first Saturday of May here in Michigan.

Be sure to check out the most recent announced testing opportunity, quite certain many here will be interested. 

I wish that I could say that I only have been awake for a little while, but still working on breaking the early morning wake-up schedule.

For me it will be a full day of previously planned events supporting Leader Dogs, but it also allows numerous opportunities to interact with people and socialize, so they usually are fun things to do.

Did manage to spend some time at Carl's Golfland yesterday with SWMBO along. It was a rainy day, I bought a putter grip, actually practiced with a few different putters for a couple hours while SWMBO perused the store for womans clothing, as they had a massive sale for the upcoming Mother's Day here. Fortunately, it wasn't too bad of a hit to the wallet, and she had an enjoyable time, and I got some practice in.

Good morning MGSpies from a cloudy but warm WNY which I suppose should not be surprising but considering the winter and spring so far I'm not yet convinced the weather intends to be warm  on this first weekend of May.  Yesterday included such fun things as getting a ladder, trowel and blocks of wood out to remove a nest being built by the second floor bedroom air conditioner, and meeting niece and nephew for a hike after work to visit an Eternal Flame, hidden gem in a park not far south from Fort EasyPutter never visited until now, where natural gas escaping bedrock shale exposed behind a waterfall has been burning all my life.

The flame is to the right of my shoulder in this photo and it is a natural phenomenon.

No golf planned today as the family rock and roll band needs rehearsal for Monday night's open mic we are again all here to resume first Mondays of each month.  Then cut grass or repair left rear wheel bearings, which should I do this afternoon as both need doing. No golf related on plan until tomorrow with the second PGA HOPE session I am volunteering for, this one at Southern Meadows GC close enough to son's RIT apartment I will be also dropping off his clubs and other things to him.

I totally agree with @Kenny B about the time requirement for forum testing, and want to emphasize it is no joke. 

I had my first few posts with energy and time from receiving my driver (link in the signature below) and life has conspired to keep me looking forward to the next opportunity to test it which might be tomorrow more likely Monday, I hope.

And yes welcome in @Mrsbell89 as we enjoy our slice of life here in The Good Morning Thread and more is merrier for this awesome group of obsessed golfers as close as any friends I know!

Headed to an early tee time this morning. Weather looking pretty ideal, with temps approaching 70. New driver shaft and 2-iron in play today, so I'm very excited to see how they perform.

No other real plans on the agenda for the rest of the day. Laying low at home and enjoying the weekend.

Good morning fellows and gals, reminiscing about my win in my match play yesterday but also on what I can improve on and try to get a plan together for that . I had nine pars , six bogeys and 3 birdies for the win . I was thinking about the bogeys and what I did wrong and of course two of the holes were 3 putts, I’ll have to admit I was playing last years club champion and he putts lights out without fail and I might might have been a tad intimidated with having to play him and that’s a little understandable. My  caddie/ friend was constantly reminding me to “play my own game and don’t worry about him “. Well that small task is easier said than done !

Good Saturday morning spies. Thunderstorms on and off this morning to get things started but I have to go into work for inventory this morning so the weather is fine by me. Looks like it should be a good afternoon so I might try to get out to a course or at least a driving range. Sure seems that my busy days have nice weather and my free days don’t for the most part this spring. I’ll just have to keep rolling putts in the basement until I can get outside.

Great testing opportunity with Fujikura announced this morning. That will be a cool test for a few lucky members.

GM spies!  Just a quickie this morning from the hotel, as the lady boss goes through the 4 different dresses she brought along for our sons graduation in Mobile today.   She truly values my opinion,  but then completely disregards my input.

Good morning everyone on a rainy Saturday morning here in TN. 

First off, @berkeleybob I think the wife should let you keep the rolls terribleness from others and I find it noble that you would offer to suffer through eating all them to keep anyone one else from having to experience them. 

@Dead Solid Bogey let's freaking go! I hope you have fun out on the course today and I'm happy to hear you are getting to play. 

@Northern Monkey I Believe you could probably drop the better half at a store and once she's fully in the shopping zone, could probably sneak out for a round while she's distracted. We all know our better halves tune out the rest of the world while spending money and they take forever to pick out "just the right thing".

We're going out to eat and plant shopping for my wife's birthday. I woke up remembering I was supposed to pick up a cake Friday and forgot. I'll make the run to get it before we leave.

A good morning to all on a lovely Saturday morning. No golf today as yard work and clean up the garage beckons. My new L.A.B. Putter has arrived and initial impressions are quite favourable.  @Dead Solid Bogey delighted to hear you’ve been given the green light to resume your normal daily duties, I.e. golf 

Only downside is that my wife commented, pity you didn’t order this in pink. Oh, oh, I might have to put this putter into protective custody. Have a great day everyone.

Good morning spies!  Another day of testing the Autoflex Dream 7 driver shaft...as I posted on that thread, it's making me rethink the mechanics of my swing but so far I've seen an increase in speed (club and ball)- hoping it will translate into distance soon! And prepping for first on-course round tomorrow morning if the rain holds off long enough for our 0830 tee off

Well, I've never checked my email so much... rolling out of a late sleep in I checked and, 'lo and behold! Two days early perhaps?! The wife and I will be playing pickleball, so I'll aim the cameras at the driveway in slow motion to catch the FedEx driver coming down the driveway. Maybe pipe in some inspiring music.... Anticipation continues to build!

Starting out nice and clear here, but that's due to change later.

Got some good golf time in yesterday, and .. well am actually feeling a little encouraged and positive about my game moving forward! But as we all know those Fickle Golf Gods always have other ideas and really enjoy messing with us

Very important things to do today include shopping for some "fancy" beer for a friend who likes the more exotic styles of Belgian Ales, and help my hostess honey set up things for her dinner party this evening. Yep verrry busy day...

Good Saturday morning Spies!

All is well here at the Beach with partly cloudy morning and temps rising into the low 80's this afternoon. Round is scheduled for this afternoon; however, my playing partner is out for the day as he injured his leg yesterday... Hopefully he will be in better condition to give it a go again tomorrow. Today we will visit Willbrook Golf course down around Pawley's Island. It is a perennial favorite and is always in great shape.

Have to say it again - So glad to hear of your return to the game @Dead Solid Bogey!

Good Saturday morning MGS troops. I played like complete arse yesterday. It was BAD!

the greens were so fast I was afraid to hit an approach shot into them. Three putting???? How about 4 putts! Compared to my home course it was like playing a PGA course. I remember playing a course right after the pros played and these greens were just as fast. I wasn’t ready for that. My drives were fine. Nothing else was good. So I’m taking a break and doing some stuff around the house today. If you all are playing have a great round! I’m gonna shake this embarrassing round off. Worst part, it was all mental. That and how fast the greens were. Like ICE fast!

Good morning everyone. We are hosting the celebration of life for my father in law who passed away on April 1. Been a hectic four week stretch dealing with loss and trying settle other estate matter and helping mother in law make he adjustments as well. Wife put together an amazing PowerPoint slide capturing pictures from his birth through the end. Death is never easy but I believe this will be a really good event with all our family and close friends. I hope everyone has a great weekend and be sure to hug the ones you love.
