Weather in Chicago is rainy and cool, so I plan on reading all day with some golf/basketball on in the background. Participated in a 2-man scramble yesterday, which was very fun. It was a great way to kickoff the golf season as we didn't expect to win anything and there was no pressure to hit perfect shots with your own ball. The weather was also great for most of the day and I have a slight sunburn as a parting gift (no complaints!) He got promoted to head of parks for the city and I have yet to meet the guy. For someone who comes from PGA West, you would think he wouldn't want to put his name to something like this. No sod cutter, no rolling and no rhyme or reason. Giant S and then patches on the moon landings. New sod is not level and up to 2in taller than green in spots. I had 2 city council members reach out wanting to chat. I get our course won't get fixed for a long time (no money/bonds) but this is terrible management. I spend the morning modifying the golf cart to a 4 seater because 6 isn't allowed on the course and then spent the day with the kids and wife. Played 9 and now making some dinner. All in all, it's been a great day! Now I mumble... It'll be a blast getting to meet her, I bet she's a hoot. @Josh Parker that's just plain terrible management and a sorry excuse for a green. Almost makes me sick. Managed a 41/38 for 79 with a double on that #5 hole; the wind kills me on that hole. Made a birdie on the par 5 #13 hole that runs the same direction, but it’s shorter. Poor ball striking day; only 4 GIR so only being +7 isn’t too bad. My short game saved a lot of pars… even had two sand saves.
