The risk of making a minor crack is too high and a pence worth repair will suddenly cost a new shaft at least. For steel, I don't use a puller. I just heat up the hosels and twist the heads off. Popular Post RaRa Golf
Been a while since posting last. I just finished painting 2 of my 2-ball putters. One is an original 2001 2-ball, the other is a O-Works 2-Ball fang with the RX insert. I started with the Fang, the insert, like most of them, came out, so I had to epoxy it back in. While I was in there tinkering around I decided I wanted to paint it. After I got the Fang done, I decided to also paint the original. I played around with the Fang, and took the alignment aid off so I could paint. Underneath is actually a pretty nice looking alignment aide shaped kind of like a hammerhead shark, so I used that as some inspiration, and got my wife to use her cricut to cut me out some vinyl teeth. Then I recessed some magnets into the plastic alignment aid so I can add or remove the 2-ball alignment on a whim, and use that or the "hammerhead" alignment. Pretty happy with the turn out. Thanks, so far so good with the putting, they are neodymium magnets so they are nice and strong. It's just some Rustoleum metallic paint, "aged copper" is the colour along with some semi-gloss black. The black on the bottom of the Fang is just black vinyl, I couldn't be bothered to tape everything off and paint again. KOG
I recently got a shaft puller and pulled a bunch of shafts to repurpose. My favorite of the one I built is the Yamaha RMX Purchased the head and headcover for $70 I installed a Evenflow Green 6.0, lil chrome striped ferrule and chorded Tour Velvet Very Impressed with this 3 wood. DAKDAK
Hello all. I have been a master club builder for almost 40 years. (Been building for almost 50 years but took a while to become good). For many of you new to club building, this goes back to the days before metal woods so we had to whip woods to shafts. I have not been hitting my 3 wood well at the start of this golf season (NE Ohio) so cleaned up and regripped a Tommy Armour EQL. Hitting it almost as far as 3 wood but accuracy is substantially better. Also using Reid Lockhart 60 degree wedge that has 4 bounce angles for at least 15 years. Remains best wedge ever in my opinion. I use Avon Chamois OS Grips with 5 layers of tape under bottom hand. ejgaudette, Josh Parker and bama no 1
