What's Your Go To Putter?

My putter of choice is the Odyssey Big T. It is face balanced with a big line. I have to have both of those or the putter arrives at the ball 3 degrees open.

Thanks for the question.

I've got 3 putters, all of which I made myself.

The only one that gets used now is the latest version. It just works for me as I learned a few things from the previous versions.

Adjustable weights have been a really good addition as it allows me to adjust the putter depending in how the greens are rolling.

I used to use an Odyssey White Hot mallet but a friend had just won a new Scotty in a tournament so he gave me a Scotty Select Round Back. I added a 75 g counter weight at the top of the grip and absolutely love it. I'm going to play around with heavier sole weights but it's nice and heavy and has really cut down on me pushing it.

I started out my golf journey back in the 90's using a Ping Anser 2 blade that my dad gave me. I continued using that until about 2012 when I purchased a used Scotty Cameron Studio Select Newport 2.6 center shaft putter, which is still in my bag to this day. Lately, wanting to get a little more consistent with my stroke, I have been looking at the Phantom 5s from Scotty Cameron. I have grown to love the center shaft style and want to maintain that while going to an easier to hit mallet.

Despite having other good choices, I still like and often go back to my old Ping Karsten B60. I just really like that look! It is also the putter I used to shoot my lowest round ever, so it has a special place in my heart.

I am the original owner of a Nikent Pipe PP-01.  It is old and tired but it still has a gravitational pull a bit greater than my Toulon Daytona

My "go to" putter for the past 55 years has been a Acushnet Bullseye Standard blade by John Reuter, Jr.

I love the feeling of striking a brass putter off of the sweet spot.  🎯

Most other putters, I cannot tell if I hit the sweet spot or not and the "forgiveness" allows my stroke to be a lesser quality and my "feel" to decrease.

I have tried many different putters but always end up coming back to the Bull.

After retiring from the PGA of America, I did some demo days and club fitting for various OEMs.
