Mr_BogeyPro
I use the Sky Caddie GPS Watch. It is accurate with the yardage (I couldn't tell if it is a yard or two off), and it has a nice, detailed color map of the course that you can drag to a point you want to hit. It syncs nicely to their online tracking. I also use the Birdies18 app, which is a great GPS. I use it more to see how well my buddies are playing and bust their b*lls. Jim N
Bushnell V6 shift rangefinder (thank you, Costco, for the excellent price on this), and the free version of the Golf Pad app. I haven't gotten into tracking individual club usage on the app, but may in the future. Someone already posted screenshots of the Golf Pad app in use, and the data it provides at the end of a round, on page 1 of this thread. The yardages to front/middle/back tend to be pretty close to what the Bushnell tells me, but on doglegs it gives "as the bird flies" yardages, which isn't too useful when the inner half of the dogleg is OB with trees and buildings stopping you from trying to cut the corner. MLBoulder
Garmin Z82 and Arccos I've tried so many options, but those 2 just work the best for me and make golf more fun. With the 2D map overlay on the range finder, how could you do any better? I wish the image was as sharp as the high end rangefinders, but I get yardage data that I can trust and it lets me play more strategically. Gps by itself is sometimes incorrect. Byhaving a lasered measurement, I know I have the right measurement. Being able to see front/back/pin on the 2d map, I just feel more confident on my club choice. I try to use Arccos as little as possible while I'm playing. It's really for afterwards. The stats make golf more fun and knowing what I need to focus on has helped me improve. Had a garmen GPS for years and liked it but it quit working and was out of warranty and not fixable and garmen offered 5% on a new one so I thought I would try the laser rangefinder method. Tom the Golf Nut
I started off with a Bushnell Pro 500 laser. The dam thing was a two hander ship binoculars type. Then the Golflogix came out but it only held 5 courses and you had to pay a subscription every year. You had to plug into your computer, delete and upload courses all the time. Turned into a pain in the ass. Then I moved onto a TecTecTec laser which worked well for several years. I kept it in my golf bag when flying. I guess the lack of pressurazition in cargo weakened a seal and the optics would fog up and you couldn’t read some of the digits. Then moved on to the TecTecTec GPS watch. You got key yardage to traps, water and front middle and back of greens. Having small greens this worked fine but I realized I hate wearing a watch. Finially moved back to a laser and use the Cobalt this is by far the best laser I ever had or tried. Only draw back is they are useless on foggy days. I just have to remember to keep my GPS watch in my bag for those foggy mornings. cnosil, William P and Dweed 3 Quote Driver, TSi 1 S Flex 3 wood, Aerojet Max UST Helium Nanocore R Flex 5 wood, Aerojet Max UST Helium Nanocore R Flex 7 Wood, Aerojet Max UST Helium Nanocore R Flex 5 Hybrid King Tec MMT R Flex Irons, Tour UST Recoil 95 R Flex (6 - Gap) Wedges, Snakebite KBS Hi- Rev2.0 54* & 60* Agera 35" Ultralight 14-way Cart Bag

evkel
I use a a range finder w/slope from amazon on the course to get my distances (consistently gives the same reads +/- a yard as friends expensive stuff). Good enough for me since I'm not accurate to +/- a yard... Keep my score in the Golf Canada app and that's where I get my course GPS if need to locate hazards etc. Links to my watch for a quick look at front/centre/back of green which has been a good and functional combo. Lastly, sometimes on course to stick with this thread (but also often after the round), I track strokes gained using the Golfity app to confirm what I already know and figure out where to focus my limited practice time. unccross
Just got a shotscope h4 on eBay a couple weeks ago and so far I really like it. Solowgolfer
I have used a Garmin watch for years and love it. Light weight and find it to be very accurate for front-middle-back distances when comparing to friends using rangefinders. As an 11 handicap, I don't really feel like I need to know more than those 3 distances. A friend telling me a number that is 3 yards difference does not make me adjust clubs typically. I also periodically use my Arccos system. Sometimes checking to make sure it has recorded each shot becomes too distracting to my round, or maybe I forgot to charge the little device that clips on my belt. I think it is probably a good system if I could get consistent with it. I also typically will use the free version of 18Birdies. Less for distance info and more for data collection.
