The Masters - 2024

For any fans of Random Golf Club, I’ve just started listening to Erik’s 2 part podcast on his experience of playing Augusta. 

I think only a golfer will get this. It’s 3 hours long and goes from him winning the press lottery to get a spot to a shot by shot re-encountment of his experience 

my wife walked in while I was cooking dinner and said “what the f*ck are you listening too! It sounds boring”

its episodes 16/7 and worth a listen

I'm a big fan of Adam Scott! He's rolling the rock because he's rocking with L.A.B. I'm also hoping that Will Zalatoris wins the jacket. He has had a lot of top 3 finishes but when he has had shorts putts under pressure his figure 8 putting stroke is like nails on a chalkboard.. but he's switched to a L.A.B. broomstick now so we'll the magic happen!

Its impressive how fast  he bounced back after a pretty serious back surgery. He also seems to show up to pretty much every major he plays in.

You can just feel the pressure on Rory and it gets worse and worse each year......did he miss his chance when he endured that final round collapse in 2011? 12 years later, we are less confident in his ability to win this tournament.  If he happens to be lucky enough to be in the running on Sunday, let's hope that little scared kid does not emerge and cost him a shot at immortality.

Best week of golf on TV of the year bar none. I've been watching the Masters for over 50 years, and have NOT been disappointed once - you can't beat the back nine on Sunday at every Masters. I got to see the 1989 Masters in person thanks to corporate connections, and I've been politely rejected for the ticket lottery every year since, 34 times - but I still love it.

Wondering if the LIV guys are going to dominate like last year. Last year they had 3 in the top 5! They now added Rahm. What is everyone else's thoughts? Seeing their stars in good form such as Nieman, Rahm, Garcia, and Dechambeau!

The Masters brings memories of my son. He was born Masters weekend 2005. I watched Tiger win in the hospital. This year he's finishing up his freshman year of college, on the other side of country. Miss him terribly, but the Masters will always bring me back to holding him in my arms, watching Tiger make that incredible shot on the 16th and how perfect that day was for me.

I love Bryson's YouTube channel but unfortunately he never performs at Augusta. He's missed the cut the past 2 years. I could see Nieman Rahm and Brooks in the top 10 though

Scottie is the safe pick. I'm personally rooting for my guy Willy Z and obviously I would love to see the Big Cat get win #6. In all, just love this time of the year!

Bryson is looking like he would have been a good bet to win or each way right now. Hell of a first round score.

Main bets I've placed are Niemann and Lowry to win. Outside bet Fleetwood, but more because I'm a big fan and would love to see him win. I thought about throwing a few $$ at Aberg

I rarely-to-never bet on anything (it has been more than a decade since I placed a bet other than annual sweeps and brackets), so signed up for a new app and used a couple of bonus free bets for some longer odds combos and players

No joke. Bryson is rolling it today. He is making this course look easy when it is not!
 

I've hit a few bets on some previous tournaments, but nothing on the Masters this year. I want to be able to enjoy the Sunday finish without sweating out my bets haha

Doing my normal livestream from The Masters website using our spare laptop and into the TV.  The best, free coverage in sports... period.   While perhaps not what the field wants, I think it's great that the weather (wind) showed up to make things more difficult.  Forecast is the same tomorrow, so it could shake up the predictions.
