Can't wait to hear the results would really love to know how testers like the graphite shafts and which Mitshbushi shafts they compare to.  I also really hope they let you use the style customizing as well to see how that delivers.

Ask and you shall receive. Two things - first, would love to see a specs comparison between your gamers and the Vice (e.g. Lofts, lie, lengths, swingweight, total weight, shaft specs, grips, etc.).  I know some of this requires special equipment but if you have access that would be great.  Second, take your favorite club in your gamer set (e.g. 8-iron) and hit a 10 shot comparison against the equivalent Vice iron to a target that you can then go and walk off (or take picture) of your dispersion.  Would prefer this not on a launch monitor - on the course in real conditions if at all possible.  Real turf matters.

Now that’s funny. Why you say? Because I have most of that in my testing criteria. Some of it word for word so to speak. I have it written but not posted yet. I didn’t want to throw out a lot at once. I have a speck comparison chart against two sets that I have played over the last few seasons. I also have the 10 shot test across a few clubs. I have the technical resources but I am more of a real world on the course guy. Off a mat onto a screen is nice (I have a simulator and a Mevo) but turf interaction means so much more and truthfully all I care about.
You know what they say “Great minds think a like”

Are you going to go to Club Champion for the fitting? My understanding is that they are the only US-based company that will be carrying them.

Vice is doing a remote fitting, but I have been fit recently by True Spec and know my specs. We have completed forms today so Vice will be familiar with our game and specs before our interaction with them. You are correct though Club Champion is the only one in the US fitting their clubs.

Just had my virtual fitting, the options were steel with weighting of 90g-125g, or Whiz graphite of varying colour and weight options.  I have gone for 95g on the advice of the fitters owing to my swing speed and current tendency to send it a bit right.  I have the lime green one on the way

Good Evening Folks,

Was lucky enough to have my virtual fitting this evening.  Was a really nice call with Jamie from the forum, Alex and Wade from Vice.  I have never had a fitting before so it was a new experience.  We went over my state of play, how often i play, what my flaws are, where i tend to send the ball most (off to the right if you were wondering).  You could clearly see how much passion Alex has for the brand and the clubs throughout the call.

Once we had gone over the questions to determine what would suit my current state of play Alex went through what would likely work best. We started by going over what clubs would be better for my current skill level and state of play.  As i am a higher handicap golfer they leaned to the VGI02 which works well for me as i think they are the prettier of the two styles, and also the ones that have been described as better for someone with a higher handicap or is newer to golf.  They very generously allowed me to go for the lime green backed clubs which will go with my new golf bag perfectly!!!

head1.png.95259a81a6ea1745587cfd3c71306246.pngScreenshot2024-06-28164048.png.01453fae09b433b2a5c95af02dd613d8.png

The team advised that the graphite shafts would be the best for my swing speed as it means i might be able to have a bit more control over the swing.  He believes that this might also help me close the face a little and reduce the chances of sending the ball off to the right (advice that i would take any day of the week!!).  I also had to provide my height and the distance from my wrist crase to the ground when my arm hangs loosely down.  This will aid them in deciding the right club length. When it came to choosing my shaft i thought, "definitely got to make these look unique".  So I have followed up with the lime green 95g graphite shaft.

shaft.png.1d4adf3ead003ee5ad9cc9ce52c2a8a4.png

We then went over what grip would be best by getting me to put my hand up by my head, asking what size glove i tend to use, and what size of grip i currently use.  All of this lead us down the road of a standard grip, and in order to balance out the bright colours i have gone for the black grip.  I think the black along with the bright green will work really well.

Screenshot2024-06-28164139.png.1ac3655ac3e075e34a71ef32a596207f.png

And the final customisation is the ferrule, I have gone for a nice dark green one which i hope will fit with the rest of the colour options nicely.

Screenshot2024-06-28164156.png.b32025986629f76f8ff4e858bf54f4b1.png

So there is a rough idea of what the clubs are going to look like on arrival.  I'm not saying i am super excited but i don't know how i am going to sleep in between now and when the clubs arrive.  Delivery times are probably going to be in between 2-4 weeks so if i have not succumbed to excitement driven sleep deprivation I will be ready to roll then!!

Some great advice from Jamie on the call was to make sure i spend a good amount of time at the range when the clubs turn up in order to get used to them.  Because i am going to be going from the steel shafts of my Cobra King F8's to the graphite shafts on the Vice VGI02's it may take me a little time to get used to the change.  So expect to see some good dispersion patterns adn feedback from the driving range when they arrive.

The next step will be the unboxing on arrival, so sleep tight folks and see you then!!

That's awesome that you were able to talk with Vice directly regarding the club fitting! I'm curious if the calls were recorded so we could listen in?

I LOVE both of your color selections and the reactions of your playing partners is going to be epic!

I am now moseying on over to Vice's website to check them out for myself!

Have fun testers!

I see @Tom the Golf Nut gave his specs to Vice for them to match, but I'm curious how did they go about loft/lie customizations for everyone else? Based on height/arm length?

I'm curious if graphite shafts were recommended for everyone? At my last two fittings (one in-person and one online), both recommended graphite iron shafts and that seems to be the general trend. It's just a bummer that "stock" shafts are almost always steel and thus the 2nd hand market is mostly steel shafted irons.

Another great choice of colours. They are really going to stand out

I'll post my experience shortly but for me they did use wrist to floor and height measurement but for adjusting the lie angle it was more about my shot shape and miss. I can get snappy with my irons so my set-up will be a couple degrees flatter.

In regards to graphite vs steel, they were open to conversation but we went with steel still because they are a bit heavier. It's also the shaft closest to my current set-up with I have enjoyed.
