MyGolfSpy Vancouver, BC trip JUNE 2013

As I said on the other thread, before MBP chastised us for being there, we could and should meet at the airport in Seattle. I looked at the flights from Dallas, Pittsburgh, Boston, and Minneapolis and all of them were $300-$400 cheaper going to Seattle vs Vancouver. We could meet and have a road trip and that would save lots of money for all concerned. And we could spend it on golf.

I am liking the way this is going. So I would like to know if you guys would:

A: like to be Downtown Vancouver - obviously pretty, and walking distance to restaurants shops but will be more expensive and out of the way of the courses

OR

B: Not in the downtown core but closer to us - this will be less expensive and closer to the courses

Let me know so I can figure out where to price out hotels.

Any time there are hotels they are within walking distance to the restaurants. I do not have to be down town, and am going for the golf and camaraderie not to see downtown Vancouver. And as far as shopping goes, seriously, shopping. Are we going to be there during Canadian Christmas? Why else would we go shopping for something besides alcohol and cigars?

There is a difference to me of driving downtown to see Vancouver once or twice or thrice, and having to drive downtown and away from downtown a couple of times per day. I only base this off of living in Dallas. I do not live there now, but when I did, I lived and worked close to downtown. It was a 9 miles trip everyday and it took 55 minutes going to work, and 1 1/2 hours coming home. The solution was to spend the first hour after work in a bar. Then I could still get home at the same time. Interestingly enough, when I first got transferred out to a branch 50 miles from my home in Dallas. I continued to live there for a while because I could get to work quicker driving 50 miles each way than I could when living and working in Dallas. In other words, traffic sucks.

I am sure we will be visiting the sites, just that being closer to the MBP and golf is a better plan, IMHO.

The less driving for peeps the better. In terms of traffic congestion, Vancouver is only second to LA for worst in North America.

Though if we're going to roll 36 hole days for example, it shouldn't be that bad as traffic's pretty easy that early in the morning as long as we're not crossing bridges or going really early.

I've booked the week off from work as well.

Didn't you mean the Canadians are very inquisitive people-eh?

Or thinking about the Maple Leafs, maybe in Canadian that is, "We Canadians are very inquisitive persons-eh?"

So, this guy has just been bitched at by a couple of specialists. Need to drop a bunch of weight and pick up the fitness to fix some lingering issues. Coincidently, their first performance milestone is right around this outing. Makes it a bit easier when one has a personal goal to shoot for.

I was blathering on to the Mrs about this last night. According to her, I'm far to excited for this to occur already.

Nope. I have a couple good routines that I know work for me from footie (soccer for others reading). Just need to put it into play.

They butchered me, and by extention my wife about how we've been eating while she was pregant and now afterwards. Big changes needed there.

I hope they sort out the clot good sir!

I've missed out on this thread, and I'm sad I did...

Vancouver is hands down one of my favorite cities I've been to - simple fun, full of life, friendly people, and crap, you guys have golf too????

Sadly, I've got a wedding photography gig in Santa Barbara on June 1... so that might screw me, but if I can pull it, I'd love to attend!!!

Dude, these are cool and all., however I think that your first pic of Nidine/Van was cool as hell.

I guess it depends on what you want to promote. Nidine/Van or MGS.

I guess ya really couldn't do both, huh?

I mean, I really like the first one, though the Spy/trenchcoat is my favorite MGS pic for my wallpaper.

Your game. Your ball. Your call :)

We need promotional banners and artwork for the trip yes. But i'm looking at it as we'll need a tour logo as well. Just spinning ideas really atm and looking for your guys input and opinions for sure.

Like my next post.
