I emailed Furry Creek investigating green fee rates for groups. They said their group rates (-10% normal fees $79-$89) are normally based on 16 people but would make an exception for us if we can make 8.

 

She also included some info on packages which we might want to consider as well.

I had forgotten about Alliegence Air. They fly from Shreveport to Vegas. And Vegas to Bellingham. So for like $200-250 and some minor inconvenience I could get there pretty cheap. Ship the clubs Fed Ex. However, we still need wheels in Vancouver. Why not rent in Seattle and enjoy the views. This is not huge for me because it is over two hours to the airport anyway.

Ha ha. I bet your commute is rough from living room to the office though! Mine isn't too much worse. The office is a mile and a half down the road in the small town I live in.

Rates wise this place is dirt cheap, across the street from GolfTown and withing spitting distance of fast food for RP. It's also a convenient location for Nidine and I.

MBP you have sent lots of pictures of beautiful golf courses. How about a list of the ones you think we should play and then you or i can see if there is some package deal and find the hotel that is close to these places. Do you live near this Travelodge by the airport?

Hotel is 5 mins from us.

 

4 of the courses are city pubs within 10-15 mins of said hotel. There's no real destination package type resorts around here. Furry though is 45 minute drive up the coast.

 

Here's my prefered course list.

 

Fraserview (grew up there) across the street from us.

Riverway (our home course) 10 mins down road

Cove Links - 9 holer we play a lot for time/price, great evening round

I plotted the golf courses that you have listed.or sent pictures of on a map. You probably know this but the Travel Lodge is located somewhat centrally for he first 4 anyway. So that is fine with me. I do like the fact that River Rock is almost the same as Rover Rick but the prices are a bit steeper.

Reason for Richmond is it's super easy and local to our place. South Vancouver where we are has no hotels.

Okay I am actually volunteering at the Golf and Outdoor show this weekend. I'll see if I can do some schmoozing, although Dan is way better than I at that, and see if I can swing any deals! Manbropig is also volunteering. Yay us!
