Get the old MGS gang back together

People come & go around forums, but we've definitely lost a bunch of regulars in the last year. People have asked me how we get more members in the forums, but I think it more important to find those who've gone dark. Top of my head the Hulk's, jmillers etc

So let's get the gang back together so to speak. Time to reach out and make contact with old friends and rebuild the family. So brainstorming time to put a list together of those members we need to stalk, er I mean track down.

That is all.

Great idea MBP. I think with the season and cold weather on the way we should see some of the older regulars come back around

I think we should create and link a forum post at the conclusion of the daily blog posts. Let the discussions from the blog happen here as well. Plus it would expose the forums more without taking anything away from the blog. Just an idea??

Bring it up with the boss at the next super secret spy board meeting

That's a good idea. I used to get the newsletter and look at comments. I didn't notice the forum link at the top of the page to even come here. It wasn't til I was laid up waiting for surgery and looking for something to fight the boredom that I discovered the blog isn't the whole site.

I've been MIA all summer long...not sure I was missed much but still....I feel like this is my "online golf home" :D

It's been a CRAZY summer. Since we have a whole 3 month long summer in Wisconsin so I get out and play as often as possible while I can....mix that in with the kids activities...soccer...swimming...baseball...etc......and some unexpected stuff (might just be moving to the Houston area in the very near future)...all that leaves very little time to spend online! Once the snow starts to fly I'll be online much much more often.

Hey guys, just saw this post. Did not realize how long I was away until I actually looked. Most of you know I teach, so the back to school season in the Northeast is extremely busy. Add to that the fact that I took the head golf coach job, two little ones in school and sports and still giving lessons on weekends at the driving range make it a busy time of year. I have been checking the forums, but I check them on the Ipad when we're laying around in bed and honestly I hate typing on that thing. But I have kept up to date and for me with the phone twitter is quicker to just bang out a reply tweet I got the tweet from MBP and thought, wow its been a while, then got a few texts from rover rick and I was telling my wife how awesome it is to connect with such good golf people. It sincerely was nice to know that you've been missed. Fear not, hulk is not going anywhere and will always remain here. On a side note, last winter we were in TX and I got to play with rick, this winter we will be in san diego, not sure of dates yet and bringing my oldest son so not sure of golf plans, but if anyone lives in the area let me know (i'll do a separate post when it gets closer)

On a side, side note (if you're still reading) we are looking at a country club to join and have joined for the rest of this year as trial social members. Blue ridge CC in Palmerton PA Nice course and very challenging. We have been looking for a tough course that will challenge my oldest if he continues to do well at golf and decides that it his sport of choice. Again thanks everyone and glad to be "back"

I miss JMiller's posts.

Thanks, not sure what else to say to this comment.

RK and Hula rock sort of gave me the same speech in the other thread i happened to post in yesterday.

I completely appreciate everyone's words of encouragement here, but I'm not making a come back by any means.

I have some good reasons like i said in the other thread i posted in why I haven't posted. Other then just keeping my mouth shut and reading, I haven't been around the forum at all to read posts a lot of times. The reasons are personal and really not the place to be talked about on a public golf forum. Those who have my personal e-mail can ask me my reasons and I'll respond to you there.

Best regards and as Richard says "Fairways and greens forever".

It was sincere, I have been really impressed with some of your swing insights and have taken many of those insights to heart in my never-ending search for the secret of golf.  You add a lot to the forum, hope you are able to chip in from time to time (pun intended).

I love that pun, and will plagiarize it at every opportunity from now on in welcome threads :)

I think it's cool to be thought of as "the old gang". Always wanted to be in a gang and this seems to be the safest way

Hi guys! I haven't been on here in a while but have just been a little busy. I don't really think I was ever really one of the old gang but I always enjoy reading everything and keeping up with what you all have going on. I still love golf even though I really suck at it. Hope you all are hitting it longer and straighter than ever!!!!

Today, I will do what others will not so that...

Tomorrow, I will do what others can not
