Bad Start To The Day

Spent my morning getting ready for a business trip to Denver, which was to include a little customer golf. Went out to my van to pack up my clubs to find that they were....

 

GONE!!!

 

Stolen right out of the van - cursed night bandits!!!

 

Missing are:

 

1 set, Mizuno MP-59's

2 Cobra Baffler Hybrids

1 Callaway XHot2 2 deep fairway wood (bought last week, never hit on the course!!!)

1 Hogan hybrid with sweet XCaliber shaft

1 Carnahan wedge

1 Hippo wedge (Hippo - seriously!)

1 Wilson Tour Forged Putter.

1 sweet Taylormade R1 faux leather stand bag

1 Leupold GX-4i rangefinder

Balls, gloves, souvenir ball markers, etc.

Weird, I just found those exact clubs last night.  They were just sitting there in some guys van...

 

Sorry John, that really sucks.  Let me know if you want to borrow anything to keep playing until it gets sorted out!

Packed up my spare set of Hogan's for the Denver trip.  Funny - bought an XHot2 driver Saturday - it was in the van but not in the bag.  They didn't take that!

 

 I hope someone goes all Elin Woods on their asses!!!!

News just got worse -- looks like we have a $1,000 deductible on our homeowners insurance.

Sorry to hear about your dilemma.....guess you'll have to depend on your backup clubs for this trip.  You do have a backup set. Right?

Sorry John. I think my deductible on my homeowner's insurance is $1000 too. I was thinking about what that would mean just the other day if my clubs were stolen. 1000 bucks is a big chunk out of the total. That would suck alright.

I have a golf cart and a shed where I lock my cart up, but I do not leave my clubs.  I haul them to the car and in from the car every time.  Last year, we had someone come along and break into the sheds and steal a bunch of clubs.  Most people found out about it on Saturday morning when they got there to play golf.  There were some high school students that found out when they went to get their clubs to go to a tournament that day. 

 

Even if you got every penny back, just does not seem to make it worth the hassle.

Well, some good news to report!  Got a call from Prior Lake's finest telling me they recovered my clubs!  Apparently the Rhodes Scholar/thieves made it about 3 blocks away from the house when they realized that either the clubs were too heavy or that a cop passing by would wonder where they were going with golf clubs in the middle of the night.  

 

Anyway, the chuckleheads tossed the bag - clubs and all - off the side of the roads, about 3 blocks from the house.  Cops say all the clubs are there, as is the rangefinder! 

 

A major sigh of relief has been sighed!!

Wow. I'm not sure whether to say congrats, you got lucky, or thank your lucky stars. Either way, glad that you got your clubs back.
