mizuno_lover
Hope this topic hasn't been done recently if it has apologies men. I guess we all have that favourite club in the bag. Is it a go to pull you out of trouble club, or perhaps that iron that as soon as you pull it out of the bag you just know you are going to nail it. Is it that 50 something degree gap wedge that you can hit anywhere from 75 yards to 120 yards depending on how long or hard you swing it and you can stop it on a dime. Perhaps a hybrid that doubles as a rescue and fairway wood and you can hit it long off the tee as well? My favourite club changes from time to time, but at the moment it is my 52 degree gap wedge. I can hit that baby comfortably and accurately any where from 80 yards to about 110 yards. I have to really jump on it to hit 110 but she'll do it. It is a Mizuno MP T4 model with quad cut grooves whatever that means. It really puts some action on the ball and I've hit shots past the flag with it and had them back up hard. It'll also do the high soft landing with a gentle release up to the hole. My favourite shot with it at the moment is an 85 yard half swing that flies with a mid trajectory bites and releases. Our ninth hole is a par five with an elevated green that was redone and opened for play in February. It is pretty hard and requires a high soft approach to stop the ball on it or a hard spinning fizzer. I watched one of my playing partners hit the green today and the ball pitched released and it ran off the back leaving him a difficult pitch. I had 106 yards to the flag and settled on my gap wedge. I threw it up high and it pitched about 7 yards/paces short and bounced twice and hit the pin stopping 4 ft past the hole for a solid birdie to finish the nine. Having the confidence to pick that club and know I could pull it off makes all the difference and make it my favourite club in the bag at the moment What's yours? MattF
If I'm hitting them well, they're all my favourite except the 3 wood. I hate that thing with a passion and only use it off the tee if I have to. If I really had to choose just one, I'd say my 6 iron. Dunno why, but I just like the club. jdiddyesquire
Good question. Probably my 50* MP-T4. Oddly I can hit well anywhere from 80-140. I have a much better feel with it for half shots than my 56* or 60*, which if I try to half shot them only go 20 yards. -Justin- @jdiddyesquire Driver - Speedline Super LS 9.5*, Matrix Red Tie 6Q3 X stiff3 Wood - Tour Edge Exotics CB4 Tour 13*, Aldila NV Protopype 80X Irons - 3-PW rac LT, KBS Tour XWedges - MP-T4, 50.6, 56.14, 60.5Putter - Odyssey White Hot Pro Rossie Bag: Daltrek Carry-Lite Stand Bag Shoes: Lunar Swingtip Suede Ball: Wilson Staff Duo
apprenti23
I am definitely an equal opportunity club ho; however, I like them all about the same. Any can be replaced or broken in a second. I definitely don't love one club more than another, but there are times where I hate my driver or putter and wish they'd break haha I do prefer certain yardages over the next- I would much rather have 115-130 yards over 75-90. 90-115 yards is fine, not a huge fan of anything less than 75. I also prefer the look standing on the tee of a dogleg right over that of a dog leg left and even over a straight away tee shot.

mizuno_lover
Jdiddy it is a weird thing, I am the same with half shots with my 56 or 60 yet with the 52 Mizuno bang right on every time! revkev
Actually I don't recall doing this thread before. We've done what club would you grab to ward off an intruder in the house. That was a while ago and I was thinking of bringing it back. In regards to this thread none comes to mind at this moment. Normally it would be driver and when it's not I have issues. So since it's none you know I have issues. Kor.A.Door
Since my long game can make or break the game for me, it has to be the 5 wood, I have really good confidence that if I pull it I will hit a good shot. The only problem is that when I play from our normal 6500 yards, I can't use it all that often from the tee. jaxbeachpackerfan
Used to be my 8 iron, then my 5 wood. Now its my Renegar 60 deg wedge (after I stopped trying to use it as a sand wedge. Its been golden for anything inside of 50 yds (except, of course, I don't use it for bump and runs). Never had such a comfortable and reliable short game club before. That being said, I never use it for a full shot. Use exclusively 3/4, 1/2 or whatever shots inside of 100 yds. Just works much more consistently for me. Actually it's very good out of our thick bermuda, better than my SCOR 60 there. But I'm better at every other facet with the SCOR and I'm actually much better on full shots including longer with the 60 than the 58.
