I can control the 5-wood both ways but the hybrid likes to go left.

So my last round I had a couple instances of the left miss with the SH, likely on me though, not the club. I tinkered with the settings for my round tomorrow (16* and draw setting on hosel) since I would success with my sub70 3H more upright. For a 5w replacement I agree with @edingc, you may need 20* or 23* as these are hot. The 20 likely more a 4w replacement. If you really want to have some fun and cut out the left side, get a 23, install a left handed adapter and set it to plus 2, then you have 21* and a open face. YMMV

I should have been more clear... the 5 wood isn't going away 🙂

I have it lofted down 1.5 and it's a great club for me.  Very neutral flight, one of the few that I actually feel like I can move left or right easily.

I may have to give the Titleist Hybrids another swing.  But I'll give the speedzone hybrid a little more runway,  My arccos stats suggest it's not as leftish as I remember (I'm probably remembering the really bad ones).

I'll see what happens in the early going this year and go from there.  Thanks guys for the insight on these!

Thinking of more shafts. If I can’t get consistency down with the Tensei, I am thinking a higher weight ( not as much as my pro 2.0 ts 7x) might be my Goldilocks zone. Pairing that with a ventus or a GD might be a golden ticket, although I saw Phil slice his ventus to the moon yesterday

^ Yeah what he said! 😉

I have the 23 and look at it as an all-around utility club. For me, and so far with leaving it on the standard settings, it only goes left if I've swung that way; eg. closed down the face too much at impact. In fact, I'd say this thing tries to fly the ball pretty straight, and I really like the pop off the face. I'd bagged the original XR hybrid, 4H/22*, and had used that a LOT. But as @edingc mentioned the new SH does have a larger head/footprint .. and taller face .. vs other hybrids - especially "pro" models.

I know Phil has never been the most accurate golfer... but man has he had some drives this year.

Have you tried the Tensei Pro White vs the Pro Orange?  its more traditionally balances so the SW should be up from the orange, maybe that would give you the heft you're looking for if you generally like the orange outside of the consistency.

I want to try some heavier driver shafts too.  Not that I really have the speed you'd associate with them.  But I usually do better with heavier fairway/hybrid shafts so why not give it a try?

Everyone needs to stop talking about the super hybrid. Makes me keep thinking is would be a great 3w replacement. Fortunately they are expensive; so my cheap self keeps saying no, and there are no 17* models on CPO.

Still may need to go to the local store and hit one........

So i think my SW is already D4 on my driver (playing this at 44.75" with the Pro Orange, I have a 2g front weight and then 20.5 g of weight in the back). Don't know if that is causing the issue as my irons are at D0 (although my i think my super hybrid is D2). I bring up the shaft weight as the Pro 2.0 I tested helped with dispersion but my carry distance was low (220-235). I think what i need to do is swing smoother with the Orange and see what happens (I have only had it out once so I am far from being accustomed to it).

I've only had one of these for a while and really like it. I have the 20 but dropped the loft a degree.
My 3W is 15*, superhybrid is 19*, hybrid is 23*.... 4 degrees of separation seems to work well with the distance gapping.

I got mine from CPO with the Tensei Orange shaft and it's a great club - not quite as big as a 5w head and a little bigger than a standard hybrid head. I was on the fence and debated a 5w and I'm glad I tried one of these.

I was in the rough 220 from the pin yesterday on a p5 and took a whack and got it pin high in the greenside bunker.... I find it is good both off the tee, in the fairway and in the rough.
