I used to play in those many years ago, but the price has more than doubled since then. Anyway, I went into our only golf store in our area today looking for shoes (didn't find any I liked). The owner played in the Pro-Am and showed me a picture of his signed scorecard. He shot 61, missed a putt on the last hole for a 60. Oh, and he rarely ever plays my course. Studying for 2 opposite tests is a pain but gotta do what I gotta do. I would venture a guess that most people aren't familiar with the style of compass he was using anyway. He's not Red from Shawshank Redemption! But that's just my opinion. His explanation was that the hole location sheets are sometime off just a bit so he was charting where the hole actually was back to his green map. None of that is against the rules. I can be pretty cantankerous sometimes! I'm just trying to figure out how a compass that is used in 1st grade mathematics to make circles could be illegal. How can that possibly be a competitive advantage for him. Taking numbers from a provided pin sheet, and then charting them exactly to his own yardage book and greens sheet. I don't see an issue. The same with Phil's putt, how is there an issue, the rule says 2 stroke penalty. That's what he took and placed a 10 on the scorecard. He broke a rule, and took the penalty for breaking said rule.
