Golfspy_CG2
Really Good Question: Answering in GS Dave's format: Driver: Titleist 917D3 (always accepting auditions for this fickle spot) FW: Titleist 917F2 18 Degree-This could be the one, no chance this is going anywhere anytime soon. Hybrid: Titleist 816 H1 21 and 23 degree Same as F2 FW, unless the 818 hybrids are much better somehow. Irons: Mizuno JPX900 Hot Metal, they are in the bag for testing and doing well, but will have to hold off a challenge from the Titleist 718 AP3's and Mizuno MMC/FLi Hi combo when they come out. Wedges: Vokey SM6 They aer the longest running clubs in the bag now. beginning of 2016 season. Like others have said, if they lose out it will be to the new Vokeys in 2018 Putter: SC X7M-Right there with Vokey wedges, in the bag since beginning of 2016. But will get a challenge from Toulon Indianapolis Overall very happy with 95% of my bag right now. cnosil
My bag is pretty much set; unless something better comes along or I go get a complete fitting and there is something that provides a performance improvement. Driver: I have two but the Srixon seems to be treating me well so no reason to replace. Fairway: I like my exotics fairway but it is probably the club I would change on a whim. No real attachment to this club. Works well off the tee and pretty well from the fairway Hybrids: evolving into my favorite clubs in the bag. Both the 816 and 915 are great from the tee and fairway. Only battle will be what shaft stays in the club as I am doing MGS testing on a hybrid shaft. Hopefully the thread on that will start soon. Irons: Least likely to be changed out. I keep irons in the bag for a long time. Last set was 10 years and I am only in year 3 for these Wedges: struggling with the 50 and in pitching so these clubs rotate often and could be replace if I find something better. I do know the problem is me and not the club but I am hoping the threat of being replaced helps them behave Putter: my weak spot. I love trying different putters but I keep going back to my taylormade simply because it is a good fit for my stroke. Always on the lookout for something without an insert and less loft to get a slightly better fit. Scared to change loft on the current putter since I dong want to mess up how the putter sits at address. Just love the craftsmanship and design features associated with putters. In the end I hit all my clubs pretty well and don't have a big desire to change. I don't see it changing) No fairway woods Hybrids - Adams Super LS (love these and don't see them going anywhere unless something else changes and I need to re-gap) Irons - TMaG Speedblades (they work and I'm comfortable with the distances, if something comes along though I'm open) Wedges - Scor (I really like them, but I've been eyeing MIzzy T7 or RTX 3. Berg Ryman
Driver: Nike SQ460. Easily need an upgrade, but question is whether I want to upgrade. This driver has been my baby for the last 10 years and has been my favorite club for a long time. Tough to retire it, but it Nike out of business and no place to send it for repairs, it just might be time. Perhaps if/when I pass the bar I'll treat myself. FW: Tour Edge CB4 Tour 4 Wood. In the bag, not coming out unless there is a huge overhaul in the set-up, which seems unlikely. Hybrid: None currently, perhaps may make a move for a solid 3 hybrid or... Irons: Cobra F7 One Length, Just bought them this year and no chance of me changing them out, only thing may be an addition of the 4 iron, perhaps in place of the earlier mentioned 3 hybrid, will be an interesting decision. Wedges: WIlson Staff FG Tour. Likely gone, replaced with a Cobra One Length King 60* wedge to match the wedges from the iron set. Putter: Nickent Pipe. It would take something herculean to get this putter out of my bag. Like a putter that guarantees a one putt on every green. Never leaving, as long as I keep on making putts. PlaidJacket
The only plans I have right now are giving the KZG's I bought from deejaid several months ago a try. Jmikecpa
So over the weekend I finally decided to give my bag that I got fit for last offseason a shot and actually see how they perform. Driver: Titleist 917 D3 HZRDUS Yellow 6.5 76g. Played this on and off this year with some success. More just need to get comfortable with it but seems safe in the bag. 3 wood: Titleist 917 F2 Diamana Blueboard 83x. Safe as safe can be for this one. I hate three woods and this is about as on par as I will ever get with one. Hybrid: Titleist 816 H1 19* Fuji Speeder Motore 8.8x. Just there for now, not really liking the head size and would consider and H2 with the same shaft in it. Looks a bit bulky to my eye. Irons: Titleist 716 TMB 4 - PW with TTDG AMT S300. These really never even got a shot this year since I just was not able to use steel shafts due to injury. Seems that has worked itself out with some therapy and meds so I have been cleared to give these a go. On the bench are my trusty Adams XTD Forged irons with C Taper 130x shafts that will be going in if the TMBs don't live up to expectations. Wedges: Vokey SM6 52 and 58, SM5 62. Not going anywhere anytime soon. Putter: I change putters like I change socks. For now it is back to a blade and have a custom shop Notchback in the bag along with a Circle T Circa 62. JTexGolfer
Driver: No driver in the bag in the moment. Need to break down and finally get fit for one. 3 Wood: Cobra King LTD is VERY secure. Love this thing off the tee. 5 Wood: TaylorMade M1 3HL set to 19*. Like it but may try a hybrid. I have a 3/4 F7 hybrid on order and if I like it I might get a 2/3 as well and kick the 5 wood. Irons: Srixon 565/765 mixed set. Kicking the 4 iron out for a hybrid because of a needed gap but love the irons otherwise. Wedges: Vokey SM6's. LOVE them. Not going anywhere. Putter: Love the roll my ER1 puts on the ball but I am having alignment issues, regardless of putter brand. If they persist I am intrigued by doing a SAM Lab session or an Edel fitting. 400 Driver (8*) UST ATTAS Punch 6S F6 Baffler (16*) Matrix Red Tie 65Q4 816 H1 Hybrid (21*,23*) Diamana S+ Blue 82 HY Z765 (5-PW) +2* Aerotech Steelfiber i110cw Vokey SM5 50.08F 54.10M Aerotech Steelfiber i110cw PM Grind 60* Dynamic Gold S400 TR 1966 Anser 2 Z Star ball Pioneer Cart Bag
chemclub
I might be replacing my 3 wood but not with a new club (I really don't hit 3 wood enough to justify a new club purchase). I have been ballooning the JPX lately and losing some distance. I have an old Titleist 980F that I dropped because it has a really small head and I went looking for something with more forgiveness. But, steel shaft, 15*, it produces the most penetrating ball flight of any fairway wood I have tried. So I'm thinking of pulling a Stenson and putting an oldie but goodie back into play.
