ole gray
@ole_gray : I know you debated using graphite shafts in your irons before... is that something you would be interested in trying with these or are you using lighter weight iron shafts? My shafts are the light weight True Temper XP 95s and they work very well for me. With that said, I would certainly be open to trying graphite. I need to find a place to compare the two. ole gray
How is the gapping in the 8-W? Normally with hollow body, hybrid like irons, the shorter irons go way too far. Do these keep even gapping throughout the entire set? Gapping in the 8 - PW is very similar to the Callaway Steelhead irons I had. I've had zero problems with my yardage so it was a smooth transition. ole gray
How's the durability OG? Any bag chatter? How's the soles look after a few months of use? I don't have any bag chatter as I have iron covers on mine. My bag is so quiet, I have to look back to make sure it's still there! After several rounds here is what my 7 iron looks like: Very durable to say the least! I think I'm going to use my 7 iron this Fall to plow up a garden to plant some turnip greens. bardle
Just spent the last two days meandering my way through this thread. I'm intrigued by the HB's. You guys did a great job. Need a little more dialog on where the ball ended up in those vids OG! but they sound great and don't look bad at all at address. "If you sit there and stare at the Launchers they are big. If you sit there and stare at golf clubs you are weird." - This had me out laughing out of my chair at work I am totally shocked by Wedgies results, Honestly when you received them, did you expect to improve? I'm pretty shocked these won out over the F8 One Lengths given the results in the cobra thread. Whats the biggest difference you saw performance wise between your old F8's and the HB's? Thanks for reading through the thread Bardle. When I got these clubs I really thought they would be like every other club and results would be similar. You always hear it's the Indian and not the arrow but I think these give me my best chance to score well. The biggest difference between these and not just the Cobras but all irons I've played is the distance gapping between all clubs. I used to bunch up at the 4,5 and 6 and that was using a 4 hybrid. On top of that I really struggled to hit my distances with those clubs. My misses are still there but not nearly as bad as they used to be. I can honestly say when I had a bad day in the past it was because of my iron play. Now a bad day is usually the result of my driver or putter. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy Now that you mention that, I do believe that there were some gapping issues from a few of the testers in the F8's, at least in the beginning of the challenge, I don't recall if it ever got worked out. I'm pretty surprised you chose to test these at all being a single digit capper. It made for a great read and I'm glad it worked out for you. They all ended right at the green partner!
